What cracks me up the most is ANY OBJECT can be an "assault" weapon. Throw a tomato at a person, that tomato was an assault weapon. ANYTHING used to ASSAULT someone is an assault weapon. That term "assault weapon" needs to be expunged from the dictionary and usage because it is too broad in factual definition because of the infinite examples possible.

I would like to see a very thorough and in depth comparison between what the liberals call “Assault Weapons” and your typical hunting and small game rifles. What is idiotic is that people think a rifle is BAD because it “looks scary”. But they never understand that internally most rifles function very much the same. For instance, many years ago I owned a Ruger Mini-14. Looks like a replica “old fashion” military weapon and very much like a “nice safe” hunting rifle”. Some time later a bought a stock conversion for it and it most certainly looked like one of those “bad nasty Assault Rifles”. But, it was the same exact rifle it just looked different but functioned the same as before.

It’s like taking an old VW bug and changing the body out for some super car body. It might look fast and super agile, but it’s the same old car underneath. That’s what I wish people would do, get a few rifles which look acceptable to gun control nuts and a few so-called “Assault Rifles” then show how you can convert the “safe rifles” to LOOK like “assault rifles” When in fact nothing has changed with their function.

The .223 is a VARMINT cal. and isn't even legal for large game in most states. They freak out about it because of the looks alone. I had a 30 round clip for my old Rem 742 30-06 years ago and that IS a big cal. but didn't make it any more deadly than my savaage 110. The lack of brain cells and education is so obvious.
