In this weeks video, I torture test the TLR-1 HL from Streamlight. Many people online think this is the best weaponlight you can get for a relatively budget price. How durable is it? Let’s find out.

I use the TLR-1HL on duty, and needless to say it has not seen anything near the punishment of these tests… but I’ve used it over two years, and been happy with it.
I don’t give anyones O lite any crap, because you can break anything if you try, and I have certainly run though a number of law enforcement
Oriented lights over the years, to know by thier very nature that they have some delicate parts…. Have even had recoil cause battery leakage on a L3 produced holosight
Thats been issued all over the US Govt.
The only thing though, that I can think of in real life that would be anything close to the concrete wall test, would be getting caught in an explosion… step on an anti personel mine and have it launch your weapon
Into a wall or tree trunk. Only other thing close is maybee a car wreck.
Now get a replacement lens bezel from streetlight. Keep it going.
Remember kids don't put China on your guns!
Not saying it is but if you got that light off Amazon I’d love to know if it’s a knock off or not, seems like a good percentage of them are and some are such a good knock off youd never know without really looking. Just go read through all the negative comments to get an idea how many are probably out there that people will never even know about. There is no way to control any of your tests so to say either light won or lost is really irrelevant. The streamlight could have hit just at the right angle in the right place to kill it and not the olight or Vice versa. Would love to see some more controlled tests, i know it’s expensive but I’d pitch in some $$ for you to get another light. Not gonna lie i was surprised the olight took the hits that it did… I’ve had bad luck with the two olight weapon lights I had,the mounts broke on both of them, my hand helds have been great. I’ve had an olight m1t for like two years… I’ve dropped it probably 200 times and it still going strong.
I’d like to add that some people are of the opinion that even if item A is worse than item B if item A is made in America you should buy it over item B. I’m of the opinion that even if item A is made in america it’s still made with Chinese parts 🤷♂️
Damn you had some damage for this video. I appreciate it.
Now you gotta do the Modlite lol
