Why These 3 AR15 Scopes Are Awesome

The KTM motorcycle makes a nice shooting rest at this remote RS22 location. Responding to many TNPrs wanting some updated AR15 scope options, I give you three here. I shoot them in field and discuss their value, optics quality, dials, special features, weight, and value. All three are winners.

Each represents a VALUE price point for the performance given. Some dudes will spend $1000 to scope their AR; not me. I look for excellent quality at a reasonable cost. The Sousa Optics “Mantis,” Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x or 1-8x, and the Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10x (!) or 1-8x scopes are all excellent. All are used on TNP testing and WROL guns.

Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10x option, quality outsizes price:
1-8x version
SOUSA Mantis 30MM 1-6X24 Illuminated BDC Reticle:
Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 & 1-8 scopes, some in FDE!:
Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm Optics Planet Special Edition FDE scope
Lightning high value out the front knife, so xlnt:
AeroPrecision Ultralight mounts, we use these exclusively, we buy them just like you:
Holosun red dot sights, still my go to red dot:
Midwest Industries handguard:
Lightweight AR15 handguards
Criterion AR15 barrels, these are legit:
TRYBE Defense AR-15 Curved Drop-In Trigger

  1. Thanks for coming out to the video! This or course is thanks to my donors who make this expensive process possible, fully independent reviews: https://www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy You can also donate to the TNP independence with PayPal also, above. Here’s some of TNPP comments on this video! "Todd Strelka Great video. I love my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm Rifle Scope. 3 6d The Nutnfancy Project Dude YOU turned me on the Strike Eagle, thanks! 1 6d Cheesewell I needed this! Thank you! 1 6d The Nutnfancy Project You know it brother 1 6d Aaron Carrington For a very affordable long range scope I’d recommend the Arken SH-4 34mm 6-24×50. Their scope rings and mount are very robust and durable as well. 1 6d The Nutnfancy Project Sounds good, maybe long range scope stuff later 6d Joshua Keeler Hey. Thank you for your great attitude. You are consistent. I appreciate that in you. 6d EthanRX Love it, thanks Nutn. I recently got in the new Primary Arms 3x micro prism and it has been awesome. Very small and lightweight. 2 6d Anthony Sias II I got mine too, haven't got a chance to shoot it yet 5d Jon Bartholomew Another one of your "tiered" optic videos would be great. Updated of course with newer optics brands/models. I'm still running the Leupold VX-R based on your last recommendation. I'm certainly not a glass snob, but these 3 are all low tier non quality optics. I personally wouldn't run them on a rifle defending myself or my family. Introducing and reviewing some quality optics would be much appreciated if you ever get around to it. Thank you for all your work. 2 6d Jayson Fraser I recently (finally) got my first optic after saving for a while and practicing with irons. I was debating between an LPVO and a prism (like the primary arms micro prisms), and within LPVOs I debated between the Strike Eagle and similar Primary Arms optics. I decided on the Primary Arms 1-6x FFP with the ACSS Raptor reticle. I just mounted and zeroed it the other day, but haven’t gotten to play with it much yet, but so far I love it. The reticle was the deciding factor over the Vortex. Plus the FFP functionality (while not a deal breaker for me in that magnification range) seems like it’ll make certain medium range applications easier. If I had known about that swampfox though, it would have at least been in consideration. 1 6d Gilberto Esquivel Yes, Yes, and Yes…The glass ain't terrific on the PA's but they're good enough; and damn it if you can't ring steel consistently up to 300 yards with these scopes! They remind of of ACOG's in terms of ruggedness (like on land only) except they run batteries.. 1 5d Anthony I have the Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10 LPVO on a Savage Model 10 in 308 and I love it, great scope! 6d Jamie Ayers Check out the Swampfox website. They give really nice discounts to LEO’s and military active and vets. They make affordable pistol optics and often have flash sales. 5d Brad Fegan Thanks for the review appreciate it👍👍 5d Gilberto Esquivel After I watched Flannel Daddy beat the F^%$ out of one mounted on a SCAR and give it a thumbs up after it didn't fail to get rounds on target….I settled on the Chi-Com built PA 1-6x with ACSS Reticle. These little tanks are effective and rugged for the money…you can hand a few of those babies out to your buddies running without glass to help them get rounds on target WITHOUT BREAKING YOUR BANK…for when the music stops…Hell if they die, just peel it out of their hands and give it to someone else…its gonna keep working! 5d Whippersnapper Nutn, the family has been out of town this week, so I have been binging GRVs and hanging out with you and TD. Thanks for all the good times and info. Glad I can't smell the farts through the screen…Maybe move the bean storage out of the bunker if you can't control yourself? Been watching since I was 18. Now 32. Just bought me a Ruger American in .270 last week off your review. Got 4 kids now, oldest is 7. He's on track for a cricket .22 next year😉. Rock on sir. 1 5d The Nutnfancy Project I will continue to rock on and glad to hear about the binge watching; that's fun. TD's fun to have, I always try to get him to be in more vids. That Ruger American is a great gun, I like a lot. .270 is legit too. You kids will love their Cricket too; glad to help 1 5d Jonathan-James Always enjoy the vids, very fun and informative. Very much appreciate the work, enthusiasm and consistency. Thanks Nutn. 1 5d The Nutnfancy Project Thank you much JJ and you bet. The foundation of TNP is solid and true with some new add ons, fun surprises here and there. But I want the product to be consistent for ya'll; really important in our clown world of change. Come here to relax 😉 1 5d Matthew Sinn I use the OpMod Strike Eagle 1-6 on my KelTec RDB Survival, in an AeroPrecision mount. Absolutely love it, highly recommended. The only thing I would change is for the illumination dial to have “off” positions between each brightness level. 1 5d The Nutnfancy Project Yep that would be nice; you chose well. That OpMod is an incredible value. 1 5d Boxed1n I have the illuminated 1-8 swampfox on my Aero M5 in 308. The glass quality has been great and the illumination works with my astigmatism. (Some illuminated scopes bloom bad with my vision). Side note Eotechs look like crawley blood worms with my eyesight too. Not the same optic well aware but still very weird. 2 5d The Nutnfancy Project Good input on the Swampfox; glad it has worked with your eye situation. It's a great scope and I love mine. 1 5d Load reply Gabriel Duran Tryout the atibal mirage x8 , it's got clear glass reticle is nice 5d Plumber Angelo Great video Nutn! I need to step up my glass game 5d The Nutnfancy Project And you can do it with these w/o going broke, thanks PA 1 5d Cz-Bundy This came at a great time. I just got my lower in and now my thunder ranch aero finished. It's 6 lbs FLAT. 14.5" pinned and welded. Only has irons now and I need a light scope for it. Thanks for everything Nutn !! 5d Hold Fast Joe I got a Leupold hd5 3-15x 30mm illuminated a while back. It's 20oz about same as the swampfox he shot but 2x the cost. The main benefit would be to get ya up to 15x power. 3x on low end is still sufficient for close stuff both eyes open imo. I used a Leupold patrol vxr that's 3 to 9 power before and just wanted that extra zoom. Using the 15x I can make out 22 cal holes at 100 no problem. I can sometimes see the holes at 200 with right color and light. 9x i could see the holes at 100 with the right light and not even close at 200 yard That said I never had trouble connecting with 9x, it was just a want. Plus the vxr didn't have zero reset dials and nutn is dead on, it makes a huge difference. I would put my gear away and take it out a month later not be sure if I left it zero at 300 or 100. With zero reset I always know now. Plus I can spin for 300 yards without needing to count clicks. It's definitely worth it. Swampfox looks like a great bargain or get ya 5x more power for 2x the cost 5d Load reply Jarrad Walsh Hey Nutn! What are those things you have over your motorcycle grips? I have never seen them before! 5d Jordan Parker Swampfox Arrowhead looks like a contender for my next LPVO 5d Lee Harrell Been wondering about Swampfox. Thank you for the review! 5d BadgerTails Love my 950 ADV and all the guns we shoot. Drive on! 5d Michael McAtee I’m really digging my primary arms 1-6 with acss. Great scope, great reticle, fair price. Great vid as always nutn! 5d Shadeslinger Always love seeing optic vids. Thanks for the info! 5d Andrettski I put my first Swampfox product the 'Liberator'(green ret.) on my AR9 pistol and really like it. Huge Vortex and Holosun guy but Vortex doesn't make much with green reticles. I think green pops so much better than red and I think it's time these optics co's move more in that direction. Green means 'GO' and it's Go Time. 5d Natraswift Monstrum G3 1-6 FFP FDE $220 5d Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest I have the holosun 503C on my 10,5 pistol and the vortex strike eagle 1-8 on my best AR 15 ever build. Love them both. 5d Downtrodden Suggestion: a yearly optics update from the bunker so new folks to the project aren’t searching through years of videos for something that may no longer be produced. It’s probably tedious to keep up with the market when you haven’t needed to replace optics from over a decade ago. 2 5d Paul Kwiatkowski You are living the dream and that was a great review. 5d Anthony Sias II They just released the Strike Eagle in FFP. I own two of the SFP 1-6 (one gen 1 and one gen 2) and I love them both. Also digging my Primary Arms optics as well. 1 5d Brandon Hutchins Great video! I enjoyed the solo video. Beautiful location! I thank God for you Nutnfancy, your videos always raise my spirits and faith. 4d david rockwell The Swapfox 1-10x optic certainly appears to be a great choice for a working man's liberty rifle. If one is not shooting their liberty rifle every weekend in competition, an inexpensive magnified optic is a must have over iron sights. Unfortunately, age related presbyopia plays a factor for most patriots. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication. 4d Jerome J The barricade/motorcycle type of review is just my favorite I have to say. Nutn' is laser focused in the field. 4d Jerome J the desert is so nice and green in the spring. 4d Harold Galen McPheron Fantastic review… 1 4d Jody Whitaker Nice info on some scopes. I'm liking the price on that Sousa and it's great to see the swampfox in a review. I recently paired a Arrowhead with my M&P10 and am loving it so far. Been considering adding a swampfox tomahawk for one of my M&P15s for a good all around rifle set up. Thanks for the work you put in over all these years and the great info"

  2. Budget optics are typically "gain of function" (bio-kinetic variety) collusion products.

Americans run around in trucks that cost more than my house, make up for fiscal irresponsibility by supporting companies that finance the factories and help design the products that will one day be used against the west. No better than Fauci.

  3. Dude you completely missed that the Vortex is the new FFP model lmao 👎not the same as the 1-6 or the old 1-8 which are still being made but have very different price points.

  4. why’d you have to post this so close to you know what an using it to ur advantage hope ya never have kids for people to use your same guns against your own family

  5. All of these optics are Chinese-made. (Sousa is just Sun optics, rebranded) I'll pass. Of the Chinese made optics, Bushnell, Vortex, and Athlon are pretty nice, but I am not really looking to support Chinese factories with my purchases.

  6. Love your stuff Nutn, but I think this video is a bit of a miss. Pick a stump or a rock, cause I can't tell if you're shooting through the bush or missing it.

  7. Here we go ar 15 are dangerous. Take them away from Americans. Guess what the criminals will have them to fight their rivals and the law enforcement and the at 15 grows to a more dangerous weapon. The weapon didn't grow dangerous the dangerous people grew.

  8. Burris RT-6… $300.00, 1-6 power, solid build, AND Daylight Bright red dot! 🔴 Enough said… Strike Eagle doesn’t even qualify as illuminated unless it’s dark outside.. check for yourself.

  9. The 1-6 PST for the same price is 2x-3x the optic of the Assault chicken… made in Japan or Philippines vs SE made in China.. glass isn’t even comparable. The PST has a true daylight illuminated red dot 🔴 check it out…

  10. Hi Nutn'! Newish viewer and I just had a noobish question. Would you recommend any of these optics for an M1A? I watched through one of your previous videos on the M1A already but I can't recall anything being mentioned on a "medium"/close range optic. I really appreciate any feedback and stay classy!
