Why not run both? I got the sig tango on my ar pistol and the Romeo 5 at 45°. I got the flashlight laser combo up front. I go hog hunting with my AR pistol. If I have to shoot from a distance I can hit at 100+ yards. If I'm chasing a pack of hogs on my horse I use the red dot and laser to pick them off as they run. Other than those 3 accessories I just have an angled grip. I had the Romeo with the magnifier on my AR but I ended up putting the magnifier on my MCK and I'm able to accurately hit at 30-50 yards. So I just keep that around the house now and the AR for predator extermination.
4X maybe because they have a Sniper backing them up, maybe. Just guessing…..
Thank you for the great video. I bought my first magnifier in large part to your video. I can't wait to try it out. You are a awesome as well as Classic Firearms . . . again . . . I thank you . . .
Man, I love your videos. I appreciate the information and the detail you describe in them.
An other video put the magnifier on his list of "signs you're a newb".
I have the same magnifier on my rifle. I figured I would most likely not be using my AR15 for too long of a distance. And I'm a newb. But I chose the magnifier for the same reasons you brought up, but with way, WAY less experience. Now I feel like I didn't waste my money.
Ummm..sir, that wasn't a bumble bee. That was a carpenter bee. No worries, most newbs make the same mistake.
But jeez, please know the subject before posting a video.
You're welcome.
LPVO with 45 degree backups.
I'd like to see more on prisms
Another great video, I always learn something. Question. How far with the magnifier allow you to shoot? Thanks
What hight scalar works are you running with the T2 and do you have the plate in for the g33
Interesting comments .
Does anyone know of a magnifier that flips over the left side instead of the right side?
Glad to find your video. Am building out a recce type rifle and am torn between the two options. I already have an eotech (exps3-2) I bought as a dream sight and I don't really have a use for. So I've been debating spending another $600 for a g45 5x or spending a bit more on a decent lpvo and selling the eotech
Can't run back up sights with a lpvo. I'll take my chances with the 3x magnifier so I can keep my back ups. Lpvos are nice don't get me wrong but if they break or get hit, you'll sol.
Budget friendly options for both???? Not all of us can spend $3k on w lpvo 😞
I'm AusJAILian……..don't ever give these bad boys up.
Neither of these rifles are setup for cqb.
The new Sig Juliet 6x magnifier with a good red dot would be sick.
Just wanted to say I appreciate your videos as they are very educational and you touch on important points that are applicable in the field. Again, much appreciated!
He spent 18 minutes talking about these sights and didn't once have the camera man actually give us a POV through the sight.
this comment section has no answers. do you keep the fixed front sight if you have magnifier I know you have to lose the rear fixed one
Thanks for great insight. This was very helpful.
You lost me at Swamp Fox…
I love low weight.
It matters maybe too much to me, when a rifle is feathery I just get a chub.
Marines (self call out, salty old school boot camp 1995) have been running ZERO magnification on M-16s all the way up to 500 meters for years until the adoption of ACOGs. To me, 3 to 4 power magnification is all I need all the way to 600 to 800 meters (AR-10). You have to be able to shoot and not completely rely on high power scopes ( 5 and up magnification) as a crutch. These things can break/fail in the heat of combat. More people should switch out training between iron sights and magnified assistance to be a better prepared and balanced shooter.
I use an LPVO on my 14.5, an Eotech on my 7 inch 300blk, and I'll. Be using a T2/H2 with magnifier on my upcoming mk18 build.
I am running the Vortex Crossfire with their Vortex 3X magnifier due to cost and my budget. Works very well for my usage.
Both add so much weight to the rifle but are necessary for shooting at over 100 yards with my eyesight.
