Huge container ship eclipsing the horizon. Nikon Coolpix P900.

Filmed in Galveston Texas the morning of January 29, 2017. Is the earth round or flat. This is a 140 foot tall container ship disappearing behind the horizon approximately 15 miles from shore? More or less. Average container is 8’6”-9’6” in height. I know this doesn’t take into account all factors but it may help some of you by providing useful info. It was just an experiment I did with my Nikon P900 with the 83x optical zoom.

  2. There is an inferior mirage above the “horizon,” which means the horizon here is an effect of the refraction.

    So, no. The ship is simply farther along the x axis behind a mirage.

  5. David….work it out bro. the earth is flat. How can your measure the circle of the earth between a ship 140 foot tall and the same ship 500 meters behind = the distance and the shuip height …its a joke to assume you can see the earth curve between them…..its sooo stupid its insane.

  6. You can do the Foucault pendulum experience or just see the video of the experience running live in France… it is super simple and will show the Earth is round and rotating.

  8. Most vids like this are shot over the sea, giving flat-earthers the chance to say they're not valid because the sea might be bulging up under the pull of the moon, and that the ships are simply on the far side of the bulge.
    So I'd like to see some vids shot over a very long stretch of flat LAND (which the moon can't make bulge) to see if trees and things at the far end are partially hidden by the curve of the earth.

  9. Hey just an idea but anybody with a drone could wait til a ship has gone over the horizon, then begin filming as the drone takes off and climbs vertically, and as it gets higher the ship should begin to appear..:)

  11. Probably the earth is round, but it may be a lot larger than we thought. Could be the Antarctic is a some kind of belt little lower than equator, but after the Antarctic belt on a hidden continent could live some kind of super race or at least people, who wasn't erased and repopulate on ruins every 300 years after another flood. And they may hold their history as a science, but not propaganda and be much more educated than we are. Probably we are opposite to them like the monkeys opposite to humans.

    Well sir, apparently someone noticed that the waterlevel kept rising in the view.
    So if the person filming wasn't moving … why would the water level move halfway up the screen when it was at the bottom when it first started.

    Damn it …. those smart people always have to ruin everything for the dummies !!!

    And we had them all fooled !!!

  13. Did anyone care to do the calculations to figure out the amount of curvature there should be at that distance ?
    You may think that the ship goes "over the horizon " but if you do the calculations using the numbers given as the dimensions of the Earth and there should be over 300 feet of curvature at that distance ….

    I will gladly debate AFTER scientific proof of a spinning ball earth. My qualifications, (or lack thereof)…

    I've worked as a college professor and have over 3 years of research on the topic of Cosmology. I work as an advanced robotic systems programmer/analyst with a background in computer science with emphasis on automotive assembly line controls engineering and throughput enhancement. I've installed entire assembly lines for G.M., Ford, Diamler-Chrysler, NIssan, Toyota, and Auto-Alliance/Mazda and have worked under direct employ of G.M Cadillac and Diamler as Systems Analyst.

    1st, I require prior to debate scientific proof of the following…

    1. Curvature of the earth at 8 inches per mile SQUARED as specified in the Pythagoras Theorem, (To date has NEVER been done.)

    2. Proof of the earths motion as proven to be false in the Michelson-Morley experiment and many others.

    3. (optional) Proof of Einsteins theory of E=Mc2 which was originally designed to prove the Heliocentric model.

    If you truly believe in your education and can backup your cosmology/physics and astronomy I'm Here for you to completely humiliate!

  17. I see a lot of globers calling this video a super victory. Don't understand your short sighted logic. The video starts out with little or no zoom and the ship is not visible. The zoom brings the ship from – over the horizon – so it is pretty much full scale at 15 plus miles away. Gradually the ship seems to disappear in the zoomed mode, exactly like when it was un-zoomed at the beginning.

    So, what does this prove? That the camera has limitations just like the naked eye over distance. What the hell? Remember the ship was – below – the horizon at the beginning…

    Can any of you globers show me an experiment where LIQUID water is not level? I am putting my money on "NO". If you can't then you are believing in bullshit not science, which takes more faith than religion. (Not that I am religious, it is just for any con to work, faith is a big factor.)
