Streamlight TLR VIR ii | Solid budget IR laser/illuminator

The stream light TLR VIR ii is our favorite budget IR laser and illuminator. Does that mean that it is the best? Absolutely not. It doesn’t do exceptionally well in terms of IR illumination, and the white light is…lethargic. So why would we love this little light so much?

Jared goes over that specific topic in this video. We hope you find it helpful!

  1. I’ve been using the VIR2 as well and for the price it gets the job done. I have a GP PVS14 so it fits the bill for a budget NV setup. Thinking of getting another one for my other gun.

  2. If you want a full power laser, just contact the Taliban and have them send you some! Thanks Biden! #FuckBiden

But for real, what are the circumstances that while using Nods, someone would want to separate the light/laser illuminating at the same time? Asking as never having used nods.

  3. Any suggestions on how to decide between the Geissele Super and Airborne charging handles. I like my Radian Raptor LT but I'm not confident in the durability of the plastic ears, and it digs into my back when I sling it snd catches on gear. I really like how easy it is to manipulate though, with the large latches. Plus I want the gas buster ridge, but I'm concerned if I go with the super I'll still have the catching problems but if I go with the Airborne I'll lose the ease of manipulations…

  4. I want to like the vir-ii. It's useful as a pistol light or on an SBR at home defense range. Yes, it's slick/intuitive when mounted @12 oclock just ahead of my buis. But, the super weak white light and ir anemic illuminator are kind of a drag. For budget illuminators, the holosun ls321 is under 800 and is much better.
