Leopould scopes are hard to beat. Back in the 80s when I first started hunting. You pretty much had 2 choices. Loupuld and Redfield, that was I unless you bought a junk bushnell. I've been using them since. There just proven
I’m thinking a Crossfire II for my 45/70. Do you think it would hold up to the abuse?
I have a VX-Hog with Pigplex and love it. Last week I found out they replaced the model with the VX-Freedom with Piglex. I purchased it and was disappointed. They got rid if the words, "Pig Plex" in the reticle and didn't supply a scope cover. I almost sent it back.

Mate im from australia i had doubts about the vx-r hog for a marlin 1895 sbl guide gun for hog and deer hunting but after this i made up my mind im going for it how do you recon it would go on the 45-70 cause i be honest its gonna be the first scope im going to buy as well so ive been researching about it and the hog came up all the time for quality easy to use and extreme for hunting, i just need professional advice would you be able to help me out?

I'm about to save you some money on future purchases of this scope. Next time you buy one, walk into academy and have them price match Amazon. They'll even discount an additional 5% from the Amazon price. It's a great scope and I love how light it is.
