I have had this happen on multiple Streamlight Stinger lights. Even with a new button kit installed the problem would continue. I found that the batter seems to be contacting the side case of the light and is causing the light to turn on or act as though the button is stuck. My batteries are genuine Streamlight branded batteries that are about a year old. The fix is pretty simple and costs less than a penny to see if it will work for you. No modifications or changes are made to the flashlight. just be certain that whatever material you are using is thin enough to allow the battery to be swapped when needed.
