Today we’re talking about the Best AR-15 Upgrades. It doesn’t matter if it’s a 5.56 , 300 blackout, Skeletonized AR15, The Most Powerful AR15, or a .308 AR10 these AR-15 mods will make your AR-15 or AR-15 pistol feel expensive.

Maybe you’re a fan of Demolition Ranch, Kentucky Ballistics, Brandon Herrera, or Garand Thumb. I’m a huge fan myself. If that’s the case I must warn you. I’m not that entertaining and I don’t care about “How deep into dirt will it go?” nor do I care about “Is titanium bullet proof?”

Perhaps you’re an AR Guys vs AK Guys, personally I like both. Or maybe your a fan of “Worst Internet Gun Fails” The Darwin Awards.

There also might be a chance you like seeing videos like “My 50 Cal Exploded” or “50BMG vs Atlas Stone”. Heck yeah me too.

At the end of the day, my goal is to give you straight up gun reviews for self defense and show you what works and what doesn’t plain and simple.

  1. My Sam7sf, Giessllie 5.56 Superduty, LWRCI-DI & Gen4 Noveske all have CHF barrels but my top tier barrel came with my Gen4 Noveske. It actually came with a $600.oo CS 13.7 CHF land & grooved double chromed lined M249 machine gun spec mid length bull barrel. That was alot of stuff too say about a barrel but I know it will last me for ever and I can mag dump in some of the coldest weather and still be on point…👊🇺🇸🇺🇸👍

  2. Todays bullets hold together better than they used to and good barrels and with a fast twist will still shoot light bullets great. For example I have a 1-7 twist white oak barrel that will stack 52smk on top of each other. It also gives me the ability to shoot 77smk great too.

  3. Good video. Barrels are the heart of the rifle. Do prefer Ballistic Advantage Hanson profile barrel for the balance between cost, quality and features but Faxon and Odin Works barrels are good. Mid length gas system is the way to go for a 14.5" or 16" barrel.

  4. Consider building a Wilson Combat for a DMR. Wilson's barrels are button rifled and come in a heavy profile that can be ordered with flutes (called Recon profile). They use 416R stainless. I'm building one right now with a 18" barrel and rifle length gas system. I've been shooting AR variants for 15yrs.

  5. I just want to clarify how mp testing works. The metal is coated with a dye that has particles in it that will react to a magnetic field. The metal is then put under a magnetic field and any cracks will attract those particles. These particles are usually florescent and show up under black light. This makes any cracks stand out no matter how small.

  6. Bro.. You lose 50 fps PER INCH of barrel. So a 16" barrel will be at least 200 fps less than a 20" barrel.. So if your 20" is hitting 3,000 fps, your 16" barrel will only do 2,800 fps.. Where as a 10" will only push 2500 fps. (in general, depending on ammo).

  7. I watched an Iraqvet8888 vid where they tried to melt down a POF ar. They dumped like 2000 rounds full auto. It wouldn’t go full auto near the 2000 mark but it was semi firing. Some of the benefits of the POF is the barrel nut,it has 51” of surface area and operates as a heat sink. Just thought you’d like to see it. I love your channel and the information is of great value. Thanks.

  8. Just bought my first AR which I'm building out. The struggle is real when deciding what to choose. Avid Hunter and might do 3 gun so went with 16in HBAR SS fluted. I think it's gonna be a great all-arounder. Cool video man👍

  9. Faxon and Ballistic Advantage are proven high quality barrels. Was a big fan of Faxon and a few years ago learned of Ballistic Advantage. Ballistic Advantage is affordable and very accurate. They also have some profile differences. Check them out…

  10. I appreciate everything presented in this video. However, I was most curious about what illumination you use in your safe. I've had a heck of a time finding options that adhere to the interior felt.

  11. One mistake was in regards to the vertical foregrip. If it’s 26” from threads to buffer tube and you add a verticle grip it becomes a “firearm” under 26” overall length and it’s an AOW and needs a stamp. But the ATF changes their minds like underwear so who knows how long that’ll be the case.

  12. I understand the "rules" you talk about for Pistol vs SBR. But if you buy a stripped lower and build yourself, no one will know how it started it's life. You call technically pop on any upper or stock/brace you want. It's just what might happen when you go to a range or run into an AFT agent that really matters. But when you SBR a lower, then it's marked for life (by your FFL) and can go back and forth.

  13. It’s hilarious cause I have built three different AR-15s so far and each one fills one of the three main roles you described. My first one was a general purpose AR-15 and that has a Faxon pencil barrel with integral flash hider. The next was a 10.5” AR pistol, the third and most recent is a precision rifle with an 18” match barrel.

  14. Someone told me in a comment that Chrome lining does not make any difference in Barrel lifespan for button rifled barrels (compared to button rifled barrels that are just nitride treated) but Chrome lining did make a difference for cold hammer-forged barrels.
Is this true or just complete internet bunk?

  15. My friend works for a barrel company, he can get me a$750 223 barrel for my AR that is guaranteed to shot 1/2 MOA. Tells me that even criterion, BA, and faxon barrels have poor QC and should stay away from them. I agree barrel is probably one of the most important aspects but some people have this idea that it’s going to make you a sharp shooter expert. I can shoot better than he can with my PSA so that’s saying something. Training is the most important not gucci gear that people who have a superiority complex like to drool over.
