What is the A5 system? And why do we use it?
Instead of finely tuning a rifle, we want to give it the widest operational envelop. The more finely tuned something is the more narrow that window. A fighting gun should be forgiving. Our goal is to incrementally improve the performance of this platform…and those incremental improvements added up absolutely make a difference.

  1. All you have to do is take apart the buffer and cut half a ear sponge and place it inside to take up the room to make it not rattle. Jerry M. Buffer magnet system is quiet not rattlesnake noise here.

  2. It’s all a matter of differential forces. All a gimmick for a better feel. Different buffer lengths and weights coupled with different spring lengths and tensions. What you don’t see being produced is a truly better system that uses progressive rate spring coils like your car has. I had to coil my own to create one. I’d say a 30% recoil reduction.

  3. Thanks for the good information. I've always put A2 stocks on my ARs, because I knew they absorbed more recoil than the carbine stocks.
Knowing about this system, I'll change a couple of them to it.
    Thanks again!

  4. "The biasing spring to keep the weights in the same place at all times"
"An important functions is the inner weights slingshotting inside the buffer"
"The weights will always be against the front face"
A SilencerCo testing video showed that increasing buffer weight over an H3 has little affect.
It seems the magic of A5 is all about a longer buffer tube to reduce impulse/felt recoil, but you'll be shooting slower as well.

  5. Great video…… For those of us who are stupid, what are the negative trade off(s) besides paying a little more for it? Reliability without a can on the end?

  6. Will A5 system work on a 11.5 pistol?
Is the buffer tube actually longer? Just need their buffer tube, spring and buffer?
If it’s a tad longer, seems it would help some folks out when it comes to the 26” OAL requirement from the AFT

  7. Somewhere a balance of ammo spring and rifle to combat metal opening and closing. Ak-47 seems to me a bit violent that way. Thompson smg same issue but because open bolt also. Why not make buffer like a dead blow hammer/ wife to absorb and dissipate the energy of the movements?

  8. What should I use for 9 inch 300 blackout? I don’t think I want to get into the adjustable gas block or bolt carrier game. Is there a general consensus on a buffer setup that would work suppressed and unsurpassed?

  9. how does a heavier buffer wear gas rings out faster lol. the original m16 was designed with a heavier buffer than anything oem builders give you lol!!!

  10. I saw a video where the ejection stayed the same regardless of what buffer weight was used with their a5 tube. It had me question if it’s actually worth it. Perhaps one day I’ll try. I use JPs which are smooth, but I’d hesitate to call it an improvement.
