Happy New Year and welcome 2022!
First video of 2022.
Thought it a bit ironic to begin 2022 with my EOTECH G45 5x magnifier. Considering how it recently performed/delivered at the range, it’s a good way to begin 2022. The irony is this saga has technically span across 2+ years, beginning with:
2020: The Shot Show announcement and my original order
2021: The disappointing product that I received in Q1 2021 (see previous videos)
2022: This video of the “replacement” that performed as I wished the original had
I had originally zeroed the EXPS for 50 yards as I had no G45 at that time. Once the first G45 arrived and I took it to the range, I was VERY disappointed and just couldn’t get a clear sight picture (as compared to the G33 I was testing it against on the same rifle). So back it went and the wait for #2 began. Long wait.
Finally got to the range and decided I’d just mount the G45 and shoot @ 50 and 100 yards and see what I got. As is obvious from my target, I confirmed my zero @ 50 (not sure if I’ll push that to 100 yds or not) was right on the money and my shots at 100 yds weren’t too bad. Acceptable.
Bottom line, the “new” G45 performed as I had expected my original G45 to perform. Clear, sharp sight and the only adjusting I had to do was the vertical/horizontal settings on the G45 to “center” the EXPS reticle…and then some minor diopter rotation to make the sight picture razor crisp…just like the G33’s clarity. The 5x vs 3x was completely obvious as well now, which further reinforces my first G45 was indeed a lemon. Oh well. Good start to 2022!

Have a magnifier I’m going to have to return, just to tight to work. Not sure where I got it hope I can find the paper trail.
So glad you got it all worked out and settled in. Looks like it shoots really well. 50 yards is lights-out. Echo
