This CMMG Resolute in 350 Legend is one of the most flexible hunting rifles I’ve ever tried. It’s easy to swing into action, packing a lot of firepower into a compact, reliable platform.

  1. I built my 350 over 6 months. Even with out seeing this video or knowing that CMMG cut the receiver at the feed ramp area I did mine that way. I rounded the square edge and lowered it a little to match up to the massive I size fits all feed ramp on the 18" AR-Stoner heavy barrel I used. Still carbine length gas. I used a nitrated bcg and it all works well with under 1 MOA at 100 using Winchester 180 grain sp. I prefer the vortex 3x9x50 made for straight wall cartridges. As I would have preferred to buy CMMG I just couldn't spend the cash. As for the 350 L cartridge I in the AR modern sporting rifle it just the best brush and under 350 yard hunting cartridge out there. No recoil to speak of and just dead nuts on consistency.

  2. This channel and easy access to 350 ammo/reloading dies encouraged me to purchased a cheap 350 Legend barrel (not CMMG) and 3 magazines (CMMG). CMMG makes good stuff and I based my dedicated 22LR upper on their barrel and bolt. Find even with my cheap barrel, very cheap scope and trigger that I get very respectable groups at 100 and 200 yards, especially with reloads.

  3. I like a Large, ambi, rear charging handle. But it seems like a side charging AR works better when using a scope. I am considering one of those add on, Devil Dog Concepts, side charging systems.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree with you on cmmg– i have a24" endeavor in 22nosler thsts 1/2 " all day ! & also the 350 like yours- AWESOME , BUT ! I'M now 6months and still waiting on a 9mm rdb carbine upper. 🤯😡

  5. I built a ‘DMR’ setup: 20” Faxon barrel riding on an A1 rifle lower w/ a Geissele SSA-E trigger. I wasnt expecting precision groups with this cartidge but today i got 2 different charge weights that were MOA with Lil’ Gun pushing 170g Interlocks. These were the first handloads thru this barrel (after i put about 60ish rounds of cheapo fmj thru it to break it in). Im very impressed. And with the rifle buffer length its a soft shooter.

  6. Excellent review. CMMG makes some good stuff. And I have been getting into the philosophy of use for the straight wall cartridges like .350 Legend. I happen to like the idea of .450 Bush Master. My preferred company for semi autos is Windham Weaponry. I have the M4A3 Dissipator in 5.56 x 45 mm NATO (.223 Rem) and the R16SFST-308 in 7.62 x 51 mm NATO (.308 Win). On the latter, I changed the telescoping carbine stock to a Magpul PRS Gen III adjustable stock. The company also makes a straight wall called the 450 Thumper for about $1600, which is an excellent price. And if I wanted bolt action. Mossberg makes one in the Patriot Hunter for about 400 ish.

These rifles are great for short range hunting for a few reasons. They are safer because most times you are firing a heavier bullet at slower speeds. The energy and speed crap the bed at 300 yards. And that is okay. I would invite anyone to read the works of Elmer Keith and Townsend Whelen on the reason for these larger caliber rifles with heavy and expanding slugs. In fact, Keith is the K in the round .333 OKH and Townsend , of course, started the .35 Whelen. Which modernly would be the very popular version of it called the .350 Legend.

Some states only allow these during rifle deer season because the hunting areas are near populated areas and they do not want hunters zinging 3000 fps bullets around. These fat straight walls create a wound channel not with shock wave from speed, but from contact of expanding projectile on tissue.

I would definitely take measures for recoil management if the gun does not include it. The Windham Weaponry comes with a Luth AR adjustable stock, which has a cushiony pad on it.

Excellent use of a scope. Also, Leupold makes one for it called the 350 Freedom with a BDC to 300 yards. Vortex, my favorite optic, has one called the Crossfire II Straight Wall with a 300 yard BDC (second focal plane) reticle averaged for .350 Legend, .450 Bush Master, and .45-70 Government. You can use any ballistic calculator, or, if you have the equipment, actual chrono data to "true" the reticle.

  7. Interesting you put this out now. I just started putting together a "study" or research comparison of AR15 chamberings for whitetail other than 223/556. The 350 Legend is one of the options. Not exactly my favorite at this point but your experience & input & insight are encouraging.

  8. 350 super suppressed suuucks. It cracks out of my 20” and 16”. Considering Faxon makes the only factory barrel with a pistol gas system I don’t think Winchester intended for this to be ran out of anything shorter than 16”. I just ordered a 12.5 faxon and I look forward to gaining some reliability with my own cast 245 grain subs.

  9. I can’t find my muzzle breaks I’ve been using or well they’re actually flash hiders. Yankee Hill used to make them. It’s a twisted four prong flash hider. It’s machined in a way that they don’t ring. And I can’t find them anywhere I need to purchase another two or three-ish lol.

  10. I actually have my 350 legend set up like yours. Although I need to get that raptor charging handle. I really like that. I guess that will become an after Christmas Christmas present for me lol. Yes Kyle you have me working on my rifle again lol

  11. There’s a really nice iron sights. Who makes those? I’ve been using the UTG metal iron sights and have actually beat them around a little bit and they have handled every bit of abuse that I have put to them. Still zeroed too. They’re around $50-ish. That was two years ago lol who knows what they cost now with all of the socialist communist Marxist crap happening to us globally

  12. That is very interesting, that CMMG widened the feed ramps. You’re gonna make me work on my rifle lol. Now I’ve got a check the feed ramp set up on my bear creek arsenal 350 legend upper. It’s attached to an arrow precision lower with all of the goodies lol. However there is a feeding issue that has come up. And I am using Winchester super X deer season 350 legend. Which actually is really good ammunition I’m impressed. It hits extremely hard. It is absolutely great for hogs here in Texas. I am at them and they just fall right over LOL 😂

  13. I love my 350 Resolute
in level 100. Lightweight, reliable, and easily adaptable to 9mm and .223 with different barrel & mags. I need to write Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, a thank you letter. The stimulus check helped me purchase my first AR. Don't you think she will get a warm feeling inside? 😆
