Building an FGC-9 MK2

I’ve been excited for a long time for this build – an FGC-9 MK2. This firearm is a hybrid 3D printed firearm, meaning the majority of the housings and complexities are 3D printed, and the barrel, bolt, firing pin and springs are not.

Brace I used has been removed from Thingiverse but was called the “Shorkwerve Blyade”. I unfortunately do not remember the designer’s name – I apologize.

  1. I would highly recommend using a propane torch, liughter or some such, to flame polish the PLA, as its perfect at retouchin surface imperfections.
Just keep exposure short, as you only want to melt the top layer.
…and only do it if you have 3 or more outer layers.

  2. Curious as to your base settings for the polymax pla? I’ve already made an fgc with a mix of abs and esun pla+. Started a few parts and didn’t like how everything was looking. Seems as if I have to print this slower than I print my esun pla+.

What are your opinions or speed and temperatures used

  3. Very impressive 3D PG. Thank you for taking the time to record, edit and share your work with those of us who appreciate your efforts. Look forward to watching more of your videos on this subject. Cheers brother

  4. some of these errors seem like they stem from stability issues with the printer… mayber adding some sort of rubber mat under the machine would help… im assuming it picks up on every vibraation… its liquid
