If you're scared of breaking the ear by banging on it with a hammer, use a vise. One side of the jaws should support the roll pin and the other side the other ear. I like to start it in from the left side. Make sure the pin and trigger guard is aligned with the hole on the lower, is even, and doesn't move. Then crank it in slowly until flush.

Awesome info. Is it hard to remove the trigger guard? I had never thought about breaking one if those ears off, now I am terrified to remove my old trigger guard. Where do you recommend buying the block you were working on? Subbed your channel.
