Shooting footage and first shots review of the Rare Breed FRT Forced Reset Trigger in a Palmetto State Armory mil-spec AR pistol lower with a CMMG 9mm 5″ Banshee 300 Burnt Bronze PCC upper and with a PSA mid-length 5.56 14.7″ upper.
Update 22FEB2021: I can confirm the burst shooting with 5.56 was from pulling the trigger too hard. I shot another 60 rounds of 9mm that ran perfectly and the spring is still looking good upon inspection.

  1. What all did you change in your banshee to get this to run? Mine only runs with a 20% reduced power buffer spring or a standard 3oz carbine buffer, but I can’t get last round bolt hold open with either of those because to the shorter buffer tube.

  2. To be clear, that rear spring loaded leg is just a trigger stop, it doesn't reset the trigger. It does reset itself once the carrier moves rearward though. Once the trigger stop is released by the carrier right at bolt lock-up, the trigger can now be squeezed again to disengage the hammer sear. A genius design that the legislature will no doubt take into consideration.

  3. Hey bench, I just bought one of these for a 10.5 inch AR. Using a standard PSA lower. Would you recommend the H3 buffer for a 10.5 as well? Or is that recommended in general for the rare breed

  4. I just got a CMMG Banshee in 9mm with an 8in barrel. It doesn’t function with the FRT currently and I have some questions for you. What length buffer tube (is it standard mil spec or a smaller one that CMMG puts on like they did with mine) and what buffer weight do you run with in 9mm?

  5. I've had the opportunity to purchase it twice. Each time I remind myself that it's not really practical for me. My range does not allow rapid fire. Not to mention ammo is nuts right now.

  7. Some might say that your issues with the 5.56 were related to the lever spring….might just check it out for kinks? Plenty of concern and controversy right now. Hopefully you'll have another chance to test it soon and can post the results! Very nice setup!
