  1. The sig would be better if it shipped with the rail you have on it, having to replace that right out the gate is a no go for me. Leaning towards Zion-15 being best under $1k. Would be saint victor but seen too many lemons to trust/recommend them.

  2. For that price you are close to a Colt 6920 or BCM (With a PSA mil spec lower). I donโ€™t think a new ar shooter really needs a free float hand guard. It would be nice to know if the Sig used 4150 steel for the barrel and 158 carpenters steel for the bolt as well but do not see that listed on their website.

  3. Midlength is definitely the way to go. I actually love rifle length. But that being said Smith and Wesson sport 2, Ruger 556, Sig Tread 400, Zion 15, Diamondback 15, Aero AC15, Springfield Saint….are all good under $1,000 AR15 rifles. But I will say that the Sig Tread and Springfield Saint both need a new handgaurd/heat shield. I have heard it on multiple occasions from people that own them. Side note all Handgaurds in this price range need upgraded if you are going to get into a serious fight; or are doing some serious shooting.

  4. Diamondback15 Diamond series is right at 1000 on gun dot deals (MSRP 1500 on DB website), Diamondback15 Black Gold is around 800 (965 MSRP on DB website). They have great features, furniture, and reliability for the price. Diamond series comes with a CMC 3.5 lb Single Stage Drop-In trigger and a bunch of other stuff.

  5. Nothing against your choice, but why if You can build a premium AR from palmetto state armory with the FN barrel and still have enough left over for 1,000 rounds of .223.

  6. If your in Maryland, Hanover Armory. I got my HA-15 for $965 with tax. They make them, have a ton in stock for a wide price range and were very great guys. Took it to the range today, only put 80 rounds through it but with the $16 Amazon red dot and American eagle.223 55 grain, I was able to shoot 4 inch groups at 50 yards and it as my first time shooting an AR, first time shooting a rifle. Had no issues what so ever, ran like a top. Super, super happy with it. I am pretty sure I could have done better with a proper sight and if I knew how to sight it in
