  1. Ive got a CBC 16” 556 upper and its a gassy girl. I put in a strike industries flat wire buff spring and H1 buffer. It helped but the 556 ammo still ejects at 1-2 oclock. 223 ammo ejects at 3 oclock out to 5ft. I tried the H2 buffer but had failures with 223 and no changes in 556. Have a VG6 Epsilon with cage on the gun as well. Should i be worried about the ejection pattern??

  2. Thank you I am working on a 7.62×39 pistol with a 10.5 inch barrel carbon length gas system. Adjustable gas system and adjustable buffer currently H2 buffer weight. Shooting tula ammo and brass ammo. If I shoot tula steel ammo no over gassing but if I shoot brass ammo I get gas back into the BCG area and has out the charging handle area. I'm guessing I need to adjustable the gas block using brass cased ammo rather then steel ammo. But was wondering about others advice and yours to make sure I'm on the right track. Thanks in advance for any assistance given. Thanks for the video.

  3. Want to thank you for all you do ! Between you and kb32 – i took the chance on building my self 2 uppers that came together and functin flawlessly and shoot superbly . Great fun and sense of accomplishment.

  4. I just got one from Aero Precision and it seems great so far but 1000% sure its gonna be a point of failure.
Now that I got it I saw the one from Q and it seems like the most reliable locking setup. Anyone have any stories about them?
LOL Not Q in general BTW. I know alot of people aren't fans of the guy but hows the gas block?

  5. I've used a Superlative Arms clamp-on adjustable gas block for some time now and never had a single problem with it. The screws have not come loose and the adjustment has not walked on me. The only slight problem I had was that I recently tore down the rifle to make a receiver change, and when I put it all back together and went to retune it, the gas adjustment was a bit frozen from carbon fouling. I just needed to use a little more torque to break it free.
BTW – Before I purchased that clamp-on block, I contacted Superlatives tech support to ask one of their techs some questions. The guy I talked to actually prefers clamp-on to pinned set screws. He seemed to think you get a better seal with clamp-on, and he said he's never seen one come loose. It's just a little more difficult to get lined up with the gas port. But a Gas Block Genie helps.

  6. Mr. Gunsandgear, I built an AR47 & the rounds hit the brass deflector. Runs good though. Last round hold open & cycles good. Would an adjustable gas block be a good idea to install or is this not needed? I’m thinking about wear & tear.

  7. Very informative, lots of info that made me maybe regret getting an adjustable block,I just started building a new M5 LR308.
I have a steal nitride adjustable block for the reason that at some point I may…or may Not mount a suppressor.
Question…your opinion in that just to make things simple I hope, just to back out to fully open the gas port and use it as in a non adjustable block?…or should I in your opinion to discard it to replace it with a simple gas block?…. Your reply would very much be appreciated….Thanks👍😎🇺🇸.

  8. From my limited experience, you really run into over gassing in the ar 10. If I run any ammo over 150 grains my bolt outruns the magazine. I've considered adjustable gas blocks but it's just as easy for me to pick a smaller round.

  9. Just a note. The DDM4V7 mlok rail has a great opening exactly at the side of screw adjustable gas block. So no mods needed to rail for inserting an allen key.

  10. question, you said using loctight defeats the purpose, but if my sole intention was to run my mid length barrel with as little gas as possible while still functioning properly, would that be ok?

  11. I have a Sig m400 tread pistol (please be nice), and after switching to a "full-auto" BCG I did notice it slowed things down a bit. I'm ejecting at almost 5'o'clock with IMIsystems green tips. I would prefer to not run a fully adjustable gas block. Does anyone know a solution? Maybe running a larger bas glock? The Sig gas block is tiny! And before anyone asks, I had no issue removing it. Some people claim its impossible.
