I bought an upper complete wish I had done the research in barrel markings. Mine was C MP CHROME BORE which years were 74 through 82. Ohwell. Good build!
You can have that magwell welded to the back half of an 80% lower and even if you get a cheap A2 lower it can be reprofiled to A1 specs. I have 4 magwells 3 of which I had that welded up to 80%’s (all XM16E1’s a 1966 and a 1967 the one on deck dates to 1965). I did a video for my first 1966 XM16E1
I'm late to this video, however way impressed! That stock, wow. What a rewarding project, thanks for sharing another of your many passions. (I'm barely learning how to clean a tiny one, lol.) Cinnabon fur is so orange swirl, lol.
I had an early AR 15 that was in excellent condition that was made in 64. I can't figure out why this was two days late in my feed. Good luck with your build.
Looks like you would pass inspection soldier! Humor aside, I really enjoyed watching you put the upper receiver together. It looks remarkably similar to my Army issue M16 A2 that I carried around in the late 90s early 2000s, though I can detect some minor differences. We also had the curved, 30 round magazine. I thought the mags were junky though because the spring loaded feature wears out quickly and you easily lose the first or second round in your ammo pouch or worse yet, on the ground. The B43 on the buttstock is probably “Bravo Company” weapon #43. That’s how I remember the labeling, by company. The numbers were stencil and white spray paint. When we had to take it apart for cleaning, which was all the time…. I was always worried about losing the tiny clip…can’t remember what it’s called now. We used to store the weapon cleaning kit and some gun oil in the butt stock. I still remember the smell of the oil. We never messed with the gas tube, but did clean the guards.

Came here to watch you put on the fsb but nah had to skip it

I find it weird that there are a lot of factory sealed right hand guards for sale now. What kind of oddness must of caused that?
Also please please please verify headspace on that gun
Should look up instructor chad on here. Hes a wealth of knowledge on ARs.

If anything makes sense out of the election it is our right to bear arms as second amendment guarantee s
Woot woot

Cinnabon is a master gunsmith. I hear that he and Bean restore and even hand-forge some of the finer parts of old Sharps and Spencer rifles.
Cool!
