Best BCG? BCM Bolt Carrier Group Review

Just ordered one for a pistol build, I expect it to hold up to my Colt.

Colt and Sons of Liberty are more durable than the Bcm in my opinion.

BCM is like a reliable American pickup truck, might not be the fanciest but its reliable and gets the job done.

Don’t forget about Smith Enterprise BCGs. They’ve been building them since the early 1980s, hard chrome which is what all the colt BCGs where lined with.

From ‘Patrick Sweeney’s’ AR-15’s recommended Bolt RINGS test: EXTEND the bolt out as normal from the carrier AND ‘stand it ON the bolt FACE’; If it STAYS without collapsing…bolt rings are STILL gtg. If it ‘fails or collapses’, rings need replaced.

As for the earlier statement that “be wary of companies that don’t LABEL their products?” MOST with very few exceptions, DON’T LABEL their products such as internal parts ie, BCG’s (bolts, etc). BCM is one of the few. I am a huge supporter of BCM too, love their products AND philosophy that drives the company…

finally had a problem with my non bcm tonight. Found out how important it is to have your gas key bolts staked in place. mine Went from running binary to single-shot instantly. no big deal but kinda sucked

Been thinking about sticking one in my aero precision rifle.

Not sold on BCM and DD being night and day better than others, the new Palmetto State BCGs are literally spec for spec identical to the BCM standards

Just picked one up. I’m sure it will work fine but damn, horrendous tooling marks all over. For the price, you’d think they would have better machining.

Dumb ass thinking the alignment of the gas rings doesnt matter. Gas leaking leads to eventual short stroking.
