This is the second part of our AR15 Build. Kevin Nokes owner of Kentucky Gun Works takes us through the upper receiver build. Kevin is a certified gunsmith, Glock Armorer and a Cerakote Applicator. After watching Kevin, even I have the confidence to build an AR15. For more information about Kentucky Gun Works go to:

The (off screen) older guy asking questions along each step of the build is a great help! Respect your elders-
Thank you for uploading. Instructions are great.
No grease in the barrel nut and threads barrel?
Great video
Thanks really thank you!! I feel a bit more confident now.
Thanks for the video, this makes me feel much more comfortable with building my own Ar
The barrel installation procedure skips the application of Lithium-Moly grease and the need to tighten and loosen the barrel nut 3 times (to 30 ft/lbs) before moving to aligning the gas tube.
Good basic intro video to show the scope of work required to assemble an upper with free float hand guards.
5:45 Or if it's fouled up it means it's time to stop shooting and clean your weapon ffs.
Wow, that was an informative, easy to watch video. Kevin truly has his stuff together. I've got an AR kit on order and this video taught me a whole lot. Thanks Kevin and thanks Firearms Patriot!
Very Nice. I have all the info to do My Upper.
Thanks so Much
It dont get any easier than that
I am also in the middle of a build and would love that barrel on my AR. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP it is a beautiful barrel and I'm guessing that handguard was 12"?
Kevin, What barrel is that? I'm in the middle of a build and am looking for that EXACT barrel.
No index dimple for the set screws?
excellent guide
So I've seen other vids where the guys are talking about stretching the threads when installing the barrel. The castle nut would be tightened and loosened a few times before final torquing. Also is it not important to check head space no matter what?
Glad we could help. Thank you for watching.
Thank you guys! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to put my bolt carrier group back in after my first cleaning. Haha
Thank you both! Great video.
That particular barrel was from a customer's rifle so I am not sure where it came from. However, similar barrels are available through Midway USA or Brownells.
Where did you get the barrel.
I am glad you found it helpful. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for the vid. I'm in the middle of an upper build and this vid was very useful. Now I'm off to the hardware store for some blue loctite, barrel will be done soon! Thanks again!
Excellent. I want to change my AR from carry handle to flat top, and wasn't sure if it was an easy DIY project. Learning that headspace is not an issue with a properly made complete barrel I know I can do it, or build another upper and keep the one I have. Thank you.
Good deal. It is a fun project.
Wow. This is really motivating me to build one for myself!
