  1. with a ten power you have to focusing more, have less deep field so the close items you have to focusing every few meters, with the 8x start the pont of infinite focus closer than a 10x. For example for follow birds in a garden is much better one 8x

  2. Fantastic review…. I'm looking to buy some binoculars while I'm out hiking I was thinking the higher the power the better.. This cleared it up for me I think the 8x are perfect for me… Thanks for helping me not buy the wrong binoculars

  3. I disagree about skipping the middle stuff. That’s actually where the value is. With lens technology these there actually isn’t a huge improvement from mid level to top level glass. In other words there is a much bigger difference between a $200 set of binoculars and a $4-600set of binoculars than there is between a $4-600 set of binoculars and a $1000 set of binoculars. I would rather have a mid level 8x set of binoculars and a mid level 12x binocular or spotting scope than just a high end set of binoculars for the same amount of money.

  4. The other downfall of 10x vs 8x is also less field of view as well. I agree that 10x is more of a specialty glass and frankly people would be better off stepping up to a 12x or spotting scope if 6-8x isn’t enough. Anything over 8x needs to be stabilized

  5. Higher power lets in less light for a given objective diameter. The downfall of a higher power magnification isn’t that it lets less light in its that it requires a bigger heavier binocular

  6. Very informative video. Great job, thanks for putting it out there. I'm in the process of buying a new pair of binos. Just wanted to know if you ever looked at or read about Wingspan Optics Naturehawk Ultra binos? They use ED glass and also have a no questions asked Lifetime Warranty. Right now they run around $190.00 for 8 X 42 on Amazon. Sweet part is they have a 425 @1000 yd. FOV. I am comparing them to the Vortex Diamondback 8 X 42's, but I don't think Vortex uses ED in the Diamondback model.. Any opinions? Thanks for your time…….. Craig PS:: I just read the Wingspan's are made in JAPAN, and the Vortex are made in CHINA. I would think better quality with JAPAN. Thanks.
