Check your website. It reads under $300.00. I prefer to see a red dot sight put through the grind of drops, water resistance freezing temps etc. to get a more realistic perspective. You asked for comments I gave you mine.

Hard to put much faith in a review of top 5 under $300.00 without doing any kind of field testing.

I bought a cheap $37 for my first rifle. Someone reccomended me the sig romeo 5. Is there a major diffrence?

Go back and compare the Sig and the Vortex it's the same sight just shaped different for marketing. Even the boxes are the same and yes both are made by Holosun, so it's Holosun for the win.

It's sad that EVERY single one of these is made in China! Especially nownits more important that ever to buy Made in USA…. I just bought my first AR, the Saint Edge Pistol and will only put a made in USA scope….suggestions?

That $300 must be for the romeo5x only. I got my Romeo 5 from optic planet for 150 I think

My 2 Favorite Red dots for 5.56N are both made by Holoson. The HS515CM and HS515GM. Both come with lower 1/3 QD Mounts and Kill Flash. Both are rock solid mounts and housings . The CM Model has Solar Option and the GM doesn't. The CM cost $30 – $50 more but well worth the extra money . In broad daylight you can use the solar . Both have either 2 MOA Dot (50 – 70k batt life ) or doughnut of death reticle ( 25 – 40k batt life ) . I prefer the doughnut of death reticle for just about everything .
The GM model is right at $300. The CM Model is $30 – $50 more . So over your $300 budget but these are IMO the best options for red dots for people who wanna spend a bit more but don't wanna spend 500 for an Aimpoint

Vortex Sparc’s can be found as low as $124 at Brownells and other places…. I own two currently, the Sparc II is a great upgrade to the Sparc I, of which I have owned two in the past. The Sparc AR uses a AA battery while the Sparc II uses a 2032.

Purchased the  Vortex Strike fire II. Awesome red or green dot. Palmetto State Armory has it on sale for $149.99.

Had my Vortex Strikefire for years with thousands of rounds on it I've never had an issue; great sight. Plus there's the Vortex warranty which makes the price point even better. Going to try the Sparc next. Great review! +1

I've had all these sights except the Bushnell. I do like the Bushnell trs25 as a little budget sight but I now use a Holosun HL515C. I have it mounted on my CZ Scorpion Evo3 micro. I'm currently building a new AR and I'm leaning towards a Sig Sauer Romeo7.

I have had my vortex sparc (origional version) for 7 years. Absolutely zero complaints. I also own an eotech, the eotech is in my backup AR.

Vortex strike fire 2 is the best no argument. Fight me.

Nice list I have 3 of the 5 listed. Vortex Strike Fire II on my M&P 15T and the Sparc AR and Romeo 5 on 2 of my builds.

The Sig Romeo 5 is probably the best red dot for under $150. And for the price is full of features like 2 moa dot, .5 increment adjustments and shake awake.

Primary arms also make great budget scopes

ALL my rifles have SIG Romeo 5's….you can't find a better red dot for the price…cept Holosun!!!

Holosuns are the coronavirus of the red dots. I've gone through 3 of them. Garbage

I am new to ARs, what is on the top of some of these guys barrels like at time 7:49. The scope obviously, but near the barrel he has something else mounted.

What about the new red dot sights from Crimson Trace? The CTS-1000 and CTS-1100? The first one is $199. The second one might break the $300 limit.

Just picked up a Vortex Crossfire. Cant wait to zero it in. It's my first ever optic/Red dot. Let's see how this goes. Oh and it's going on my MCK gen2.

I’m done with bushnell. I bought a trophy and it stopped working before I even got to shoot it. I sighted it in at home for a range trip the following week, when I went to turn it on, it wouldn’t work. Contacting bushnell through email and never even got a response. So I called and sat in hold forever and was given an option for them to call me back, which I did, and I never even got a phone call back.

Astigmatism makes finding cheap optics a challenge, at times. 🙁
