The CMMG .22 LR AR-15 Conversion Kit offers instant drop-in adaptability from .223/5.56 to .22 Long Rifle. Perfect for training new shooters or to save money at the range plinking with inexpensive .22 LR.
NOTE: For best results, CMMG recommends use with a rounded hammer and 36 grain copper plated round nose bullets.
Features:
CMMG Bravo stainless steel bolt carrier group
Compatible with most AR-15s chambered in .223 Rem/5.56 NATO
Includes (3) 25-round magazines
Designed for use in AR-15s chambered in .223 Remington, .223 Wylde, or 5.56 NATO, this drop-in kit replaces your existing bolt carrier group. No other changes are required to allow your AR to accurately and reliably fire .22 LR with the supplied magazine. To switch back, simply swap the CMMG Conversion bolt carrier group with your original and you’re good to go.
I have been testing this out for several months and have put about 1200-1500 rounds through it with only 3 malfunctions. This makes an excellent training tool and cheap plinking tool with only a couple of downsides. Accuracy is pretty bad (depending on your barrel and ammo) about 4-8 MOA at the best of times, also it needs to be cleaned often, like all the time.
Other than that they are a great option for practicing and plinking while cutting down on your expenses.

Great video. Been runing the conversion for a few years. It is a fantastic training tool. I highly recommend firing a round or two of .223 or 5.56 through the gun every 150-200 rounds. It helps to clean out the chamber and barrel.
After a few hundred rounds without cleaning it can be extremely inaccurate (3-5 foot off at 25yds).
BoreBuddy website has spare parts and upgrades for it.
I got one yesterday and have been running gemtech subs through it. It's a hoot, I was giggling the whole time.
Looks like fun! Sounds like a great option
After watching this I'm seriously considering purchasing this conversion kit however i already have a mossberg 715t 22lr and other than the weight to look at it side by side from 10' or so its almost identical to my Diamondback is it worth my time and money to train with this kit
I literally just got mine last week it's the best thing ever I decided to keep it in my 7.5 ar build its name is the giggler now bc it makes make smile every time I shoot it
