  1. Guns are like crack – so addictive.
Purchased my first gun (shotgun) last August, have 3 now, including a S&W M&P Sport II and a Canik pistol.

  2. I’ve bad “expensive” rifles break after 3 mags where my budget guns or “junk” guns ate everything I put threw it. More money doesn’t mean it’s better take colt for example cost a fortune yet quality has been going down for years.

  3. Prior Army vet here. I got out in '92. I very much wanted a civilian vision of my old M16A2. (We did not have the M-4s yet) The problem of course was this was 1992… "assault weapons ban" in full effect. Fast forward to 2004 and now they are once again legal… but not cheap. I remember seeing a Bushmaster at a local gun shop for a bit over 2K. Not interested in paying that kind money for a simple civilian sporting rifle that just "looks" like an M16. I finally settled on a Delton DT Sport. I want to say this around 2011-2012 maybe ($500 and change). After buying it at a local gun show, I put it thru the paces and was very pleased with the performance of this "off the shelf" entry level AR. After a while I decided to upgrade the furniture, sights, BCG, & handguards ect. To make a short story long, I had about $1100 in a $500 hobby rifle… I realized that I had problem. So I bought a 5D Tactical Jig set up and and never bought a complete rifle again. The first one I built was a 300 B/O pistol. Cost of the whole thing was under $400. Lesson learned. WARNING: Building these things can be very addictive.

  4. My first ar 15 build was a mk18, I went with a
    10.5 criterion barrel
    BCM BCG
    Geissele gas block
    Surefire 3 prong flash hider
    Colt upper receiver
    Aero Precision lower
Aero lower parts kit (with magpul pistol grip)
Vltor A5 buffer system with a geissele super 42 rifle length spring and vltor H1 buffer
SBA3 brace (thinking about 2 stamping)
    Aimpoint PRO
Daniel defense mk18 ris II rail
    Daniel defense fixed front sight
Knights armament rear folding back up sight
PRI gas buster charging (saving up for a suppressor)
    Surefire m600df weapon light
I have a little over 600 rounds through it, has ran flawlessly with brass cased and steel cased ammo, the ammo count would be higher but right now how things are I’m saving my ammo

  5. Ummm..widndom makes great guns ..there the old bush masters from 90:s everyone loved as cloud of colts?n makes no sense there not 1809 good but there as good as rock river ,SW ,DS,stag colt basic ar

  6. 95% of AR15s sit in safes or in corner and never hit 1000rds so they should buy a basic AR15… If your gonna run it build up what you want 100%.. Cheap ars are great cause you can add good parts later I did that a bunch

  7. When buying a complete factory rifle you are paying a premium because there is like an 11% tax imposed on the manufacturer for creating that rifle (something like that). My philosophy is build lowers, and buy complete factory built uppers. And as long as BCM exists, why would you need anything else?

  8. I got a Brownells retro for $900. Works very well, hasn't given me problems, but I'm not a huge AR guy. There is nothing exciting about an AR once you have one. My next long gun purchase is going to be the desert tech MDR once things calm down.

  9. Aero precision "build" was pretty easy. Just connected the upper and lower and added a Monstrum 1-4 illuminated reticle scope.
Mine is set up for point blank to 100 yards. Could have stuck with iron sights too but wanted the illuminated reticle for lower light conditions.

  10. Anderson lower, PSA EPT lower parts kit and BCA completed upper. They haven’t done me wrong so far, although the BCA uppers are more now than they were.

  11. I have an M&P, Ruger MPR, and have built a few Frankenars now. In my personal opinion, the Ruger has become the better bang for the big brand, commercially sold buck.

  12. I second building one from scratch. I just started a build and when I got all the lower parts installed and functioning it felt great because I did it. Think I found an expensive new hobby!

  13. Straight razor shave feels. Got a old razor from my great grandfather that still cuts. When in Germany I purchased a dovo with turtle scales and it's my favorite to use. Might want to shave a balloon a few times to practice on before putting blade to face.

  14. I just got a cmmg 22LR conversion BCG, have you tried it yet? What do you think about it? Waiting for some 36 grain copper plated 22s to come in the mail to try it out for myself. There are a lot of good reviews, and some bad. I was just wondering what your opinion was about it.

  15. I just recently bought my first AR, I went with a Stag Arms because I didn’t want a “cheap” gun so hopefully I didn’t screw that up lol. I felt too in over my head after researching how to build one as a first timer, but I think you’re right in that everyone should do it sometime. I’m gonna build one in the future for sure.
