  1. Dude, that's Jerry Miculek style long range. I'm very impressed. Kudos – and – SUBBED
Guy told me about this and I expressed doubt, saying that's 50 BMG, .416 Lapua type range, and he shot me a link. That's so outside the scope of what the .223 designers had in mind. Bloody fine shooting.

  2. Great video! What are your thoughts on using a 20” AR15 for learning and getting started on long range shooting? I’m thinking about purchasing a nice optic (Nightforce NX8 2-20) and using it on an AR15 for now, and then moving the optic to a bolt action 6.5 or something later on when I have a better understanding of long range shooting. Thank you!

  3. Working with a 24" spiral fluted .223wylde on a dpms upper and lower, precision single stage trigger pack, luthar precision stock and a cheap but oddly reliable 6x16x50 monstrum FFP scope, sode rail mounted bipod and a flat based pistol grip.
I am working 800 yards in consistent 8 inch groups.
But I live in Maine and finding a longer distance that isn't filled with hills and dense forest is next to impossible (some dang law about not distance shooting on the interstate…)
    Thus…
My rifle and I want to go much farther.
    And so
I envy your wide open spaces out in Utah, wow!
Looks like I will have to make a trip there at some point just to try out a 1000 yards and more.
    Great video!

  4. That's fricken incredible. I just put together an SPR with 18" WOA .223 barrel and a Viper PST II 5-25. I'd love to try 1,000yds! This video certainly gives hope with the .223 haha

  5. Hey I just came on to your guys channel as im new to long range shooting. just got my first bolt action rifle a .308 remington 700 sps aac-sd tactical. I really enjoyed the scope mounting video. Im sorry to hear about communist youtube and their fascist ways. Keep doing what you guys are doing. I live in Los Angeles so I understand the stupidity. Thanks for the videos and I hope to one day come over to your range when I get alot better. Thanks!

  6. I shoot my match conditioned AR-15 commercial equivalent of US Service Rifle in NRA Long Range Competition where I hold a High Master Classification, earned with irons, shooting in match rifle division; yet, with the iron sight .223 Service Rifle, my best score, which was shot in a prevailing 4mph crosswind, was only a 192. Now, here's the thing, to get an 80 SMK bullet to 1000 yards nose-on from my rifle requires a 24.8 grain load of RE-15. This loading would not keep the bullet stabilized much beyond 1000 yards and loading to a higher velocity would be dangerous. So here's my question, what's your loading that gets your bullet from an 18 inch barrel to 1500 yards nose-on in other than ideal (non-existent) wind conditions?

  7. One possibility for those weird flier rounds is your bullet is going through the sonic-subsonic barrier at about 1015 yds based on Ballistic AE. I haven't had experience with the Burger bullets but have been told they handle it better than others. My 77 SMKs go batshit when they transverse the barrier. Smaller bullets just don't do as well with it as the big boomers. For you to get any consistency afterward is damn impressive. Your reload short of the bullet appears to be exactly what everyone else I know using an AR set up in PRS competitions is running.
