I noticed a better ejection pattern without the O-ring…..
BCM pushed today and I need to install one! Sounds like a good day to rewatch and smash like for the best damn review man in the business!
I have a CMMG Banshee 200 pistol in .40S&W. It has an 8" barrel & comes with their radial delayed blowback system bolt. It looks like an AR bolt system. But it doesn't have a gas system of course. I just recently started having failure to extract and double feed and semi stove pipe issues. I found a YouTube video from another guy that referred to this video saying that this extractor kit will work on my Banshee and fix that problem. Do you have any feedback on this? I have contacted cmmg and they want pictures of the malfunctions. I told the guy from CMMG that I didnt take any pics and it's going to be awhile before I get out there to do some more shooting. Apparently they are aware of the issue but still want me to show them something. So I ordered two of these kits and I'm going to try this fix and hopefully it fixes the problem before they decide to get back to me. I hope this kit fits in right on my Banshee like that other YouTuber specified on his video. Has anyone else tried this extractor spring upgrade kit on other than an AR-15?
I see primary arms has a 4 and 5 coil 3 pack of these from bcm. Which way is best on a 14.5" build?
Very helpful as always. Thank you!
Just ordered two for my guns, hopefully it'll help move the brass out of the way.
If I purchased a BCM BCG do I still need the extractor Kit for my 10.3 or is that same spring already installed in it? I know the o ring comes with it in the package for use on shorter barrels but not sure if the spring that’s already in it is the same one that comes with the extractor kit
Any downside (such as additional wear) to running a higher power spring?
I'm watching his video and doing it at the same time, what side of the plunger goes back into the slot, The Wider or narrow?
So if it increase the reliability, why isn't on our issued M4/M16? Cost? Or maybe it may not be suitable in all environmental conditions such as the arctic? Some thoughts would be appreciated.
Looks like you're also possibly over gassed some of your rounds after the upgrade were throwing at 1-2 o clock
The space shuttle on a cold day had o-ring failures.
Great video, thank you!
Is it me or am I the only one the noticed your gun is ejecting at approx the 1 o'clock position. I havent checked my 5.56 carbine or my .223 Wylde AR pistol based on Sprinco's tuning guide/video stating the optimal and correct ejection angle should be at 4 o'clock. See this from their site. https://www.instagram.com/p/BTUx9Jdl26X/?taken-by=sprincousa
Keep up the great work!! I'm a big fan of your channel!
Would this make my mid length 16 inch barrel ar more reliable or should I leave the stock spring? Thank you
I will most likely get one because when mines extract the casing will fly as fast as the bullet.
Very informative video. Had the same problem with my ar10. Bought one and replaced it. Solved the problem. Was able to empty a full 20 round mag of steel casing. without a problem. Bolt would not to battery either now closes nicely.
Looks like that AR is a bit over gassed
I ordered this Upgrade Spring Kit when buying my Lantac E-BCG. But for the Life of me I can not get the Extractor Pin to budge, I cant feel any movement in the extractor when I attempt to put pressure on it as you show before trying to push the pin out. Honestly, I dont even need the Upgrade as the BCG is brand new and only reason I ordered the upgrade spring was a few guys when reviewing the Lantac E-BCG stated they had issues until they did this upgrade. So until I have problems I dont need to upgrade the spring. But at this point would still like to know what I am doing wrong and why this wont budge. Even if just for cleaning or plain old curiosity sake. If your familiar with this Lantac E-BCG and have any advice, id really appreciate it.
Jesus Loves You All
That pin was hard to get in as you described. I wrapped the bolt in cloth with an empty round held into the end of the bolt, and gently tighten the vice till the extractor was perfectly in place then pushed the pin home. Thank you for your video, I was clueless from where to start.
I believe BCM’s ungraded spring set is a 4 coil spring wish is actually mil-spec. Most bolts bring the old 3 coil spring. This upgrade is especially good and needed for short barreled AR pistols or SBR’s because of the shorter duel time.
Installed it on all three of my short barreled AR and it’s awesome.
Question….running a 7.5 inch 556…..can put one round in the mag a fire. The bolt locks back but the spent casing is just chilling inside the action..not the chamber …looks like the extractor slips off when it fires ..just ordered this and an adjustable gas block …thinking overgassed and weak extractor . Should i be able tho manipulate the extractor easily with me finger? Cause i can
Which end of the spring do I put into the extractor? Big or small?
Excellent video, thank you 🙏🏻. I want to Froglube my AR bolt and needed to see how to get to the extractor.
My bolt came with this mod installed. Spring tension was so great that the extractor would not ride up over the casing rim. Actually caused a jam/FTF. The jam was so tight that I had to remove the upper from the lower and "persuade" the carrier back and remove it from the upper. Then I could put a cleaning rod down the barrel and remove the live round. For my particular rifle, it was a clear failure. Once I removed the mod, the rifle ran flawlessly.
I also examined the case of the round that I removed with the cleaning rod, and the rim was very beat up, and jagged.
I did spend the better part of a week troubleshooting the FTF before I figured it out.
So if I'm having extraction issues related to the extractor/extractor spring, is more than likely going to always be the spring? How do I know if the extractor itself needs to be replaced? Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I cleaned my BCG along with the extractor today, and the extractor was very easy to put back in. Lubed up my BCG and then went to go fire some rounds and it shoots and extracts beautifully, a little better actually and smoother now that its all cleaned and lubed up. But for $5, I gotta buy myself one of those to keep in my kit as a spare.
put the narrow end into the fat end. copy that
i hear freedom muntions makes dud ammunition
