  1. Prior to 1975, myself and too many men your age were very successful with the M16A1 (which didn't have any of the things you seem to "need" or "require" and attribute to an "affordable" AR-15) and carried out the unpleasant task of dispatching the enemy. Your generation watches too many movies and plays too many video games to actually know what matters in a real firefight.

  2. AR Builds are like PC gaming builds, once you know how to assemble a PC you wont ever buy a complete commercial PC because you can always buy high end parts for less money the same is with AR builds. Should’ve learn about AR building instead of buying a complete AR.

  3. Knights Armament ST-15 MOD 2 M-LOK $2700 vs S&W M&P 15 $780. You could buy 3 M&P's or 2 M&P's and accessorize them. Personally, I'll take the redundancy of 3 guns and pretty much always have one in the fight.

  4. I feel most of us who say ‘you are just paying for the name’ already know these differences, but, I would‘ve paid for those names too if I won the lottery.

  5. The only difference I notice between my high end rifles and my sport or tread is the cheaper rifles need more lube. The chrome and exotic bolt and carriers are far more slippery than the cheaper rifles. All rifles are better than I am and I won’t shoot any of them out.

  6. You don't have to spend a lot to get many of the "extra's" the Knights Armaments is adding. I get my AR's from Bear Creek Arsenal and they have the features and have side charging for the pricing of the Smith. Great products I have both full guns and uppers from. There are many others competing now.

  7. i dont get this comp a stock m@P vs a knights with tons of stuff. i may be slow but im pretty sure if one wanted to you could do your own upgrades on that m@p and it be the same as the knights but still cost half the price of the knights, but then again im slow

  8. A question in these rifles is what will it be used I am 64 and will sue my ar for target shooting, hunting and perhaps home defense. I am not going to do 3 gun nor using it in a survival situation nor becoming a survivalist. for me a 800 to 1200 dollar ar. i will not use a 4×16 scope or atrijicon sight.

  9. Ehh I beg to differ, material comes from the same place now the name is what makes it good or not, look at IO AKs and even the older Century Arms AKs. So in a sense you are paying for a ‘brand’ name.
