In this video share our journey of finding a great scope for a Savage 212 Slug Gun. There are plenty of viable options for quality optics.

A slug gun is the primarily firearm used for IL shotgun season. A good scope and shotgun combination is key for reaching out to 100 yards and beyond effectively. Most manufactures don’t focus on manufacturing scopes for slug guns, that’s why we reached out to various companies to find the scope model that would best fit our needs.

  1. I have the same savage 212 and my first season with it I dropped 3 deer. If you want to take that slug hunter to the next level, ditch that plastic stock and get yourself a Boyd's custom wood stock. I noticed much tighter groupings right off the bat.

  2. I have.a 220 with a vx2 cds scope. Love it except for the cost of the ammo as it likes Remington accutips. I use DNZ game reaper mounts for all of my guns. I have a Savage 116 in a 308 that I use mostly to practice with so helps keep a similar platform to the 220.

  3. Awesome review guys keep them coming! I bought a Savage F220 about 3 years ago with a Leupold ULTIMATESLAM 3-9x40mm Scope. I absolutely love this gun and oh yea it still has the original Indian logo, I hate how all these companies have caved to the politically correct bullshit! Before my F220 I shot a Remington 870 that I have had since 1988, I killed alot of deer with that gun but I can reach out allot farther with the Savage and it is a hell of allot easier on this old mans shoulder. LMAO!
