  1. First let me say I am a nobody 66 years old and don't usually shoot more than a couple hundred rounds per year. The best description of this conversion is wow. I sighted it in and my last two groups at 25 yards with iron sights free hand without a lean were 3/4" and 1-1/4". I couldn't believe how well I could shoot this. I used three types of junk ammunition including Rem golden bullet hollow point bucket pack, Aguilla 40 grain hollow point bulk pack, and some very old Rem bare not even plated gray lead hollow points. I shot a combination of about 75 shots today with no failures to feed or go bang. I will be shooting a lot more going forward. With this kind of accuracy I may even use it to hunt squirrels. This is so ridiculously fun I can't even describe it other than to say it makes me giggle.

  2. I bought one of these conversions for my 16 inch 1×9 Bushmaster barrel. Like others, I had feeding issues after loading the first cartridge. I used oil, grease and such on the bolt assembly and still had feeding issues. After a 325 round brick of Federal, my feeding issues got better. once I had shot through 2 325 round bricks, the conversion was giving me 100% reliability with not only Federal Automatch and Eagle ammunition but also with Winchester Wildcats, Remington Vipers and even Thunderbolts.

Unfortunately, the increased reliability did not improve accuracy. In my barrel, I was getting 5 inch groups at 30 yards. A little big since I couldn't hit a Coke can at that distance since the bullets went around it. Thus I bought a dedicated 1×16 22lr barrel with a barrel collar. I removed CMMG's chamber adapter and installed my bolt collar after replacing the 5.56 barrel with the 22 barrel from http://www.Righttobear.com. Now I can shoot silver dollar sized groups at 30 yards with the same conversion unit.

  3. you said it, 22lr ammo is nasty. Makes a lot of smoke and leaves a lot of gunky residue in your weapon. Makes for a cheap day at the range though. I usually fire off a few rounds of 556 at the end of the day just to clear the gas tube.

  4. Never buy this cmmg 22r conversion kit. I bought it a month ago and went out to range a couple times. It has been jammed all the times every 3-4 round with grease on.
When I completed to cmmg company, they lie to me every time like sending new one for replacement. But everytime when I contact them, lie lie lie. Never trust this people and kit.

  5. One awesome scenario for this is the kids see daddy shooting his gun, wanna try it, swap the BCG, train the kids on the same rifle mom or dad use to get them familiarized with the manual of arms so they can graduate to 5.56 when they’re a little older.

  6. Ive put over 400 rounds through mine and have had nothing but issues. It slam fires every few mags and even shot off about 5 in a row a few times. Ive tried a few different kinds of ammo but hasnt resolved the issue. Ive even had lead in the muzzle device I had to scrape it out and Im sure it wasnt carbon, it was lead. Personally think its a bit dangerous

  7. I just got my Bravo Kit two weeks ago. I love the design. I think people may tend to overlook an important point: I made sure TO OIL IT before my first use (I think Gear Know-How does mention this quickly in this video – just a tip not to forget).

CCI Mini Mags and Stingers run great through this kit!

I am pretty sure that the S&W Mags do run well with this kit but full disclosure…I have not tried them first-hand.

As far as the loading of the magazines, I find they load pretty easily after the first couple of times. I would suggest loading better ammo the first few times as the bulk ammo tends to bind up the spring in the beginning. Here is a link to a great speed loader…you can thank me later 🙂 https://02bab52.netsolstores.com/lightnin-grip-loader.aspx?variation=533

  8. I’ve had mine for a couple years now and it has been flawless in my 10.5” pistol. It’s a great way to introduce newer and younger shooters to the AR platform. My wife and kids love it. Maybe I’ve just been lucky but it feeds the cheap Federal and Winchester ammo just fine. No break in was needed. CCI runs great as well. Enjoyed the video.

  9. A HUGE downside to those magazines are their polymer feed lips. I had a similar design and kept them loaded and in a drawer. Opened the drawer later and the rounds and mag springs were busted open.

A consideration if you’re loading them be gentle.
