Got to hunt shoulder to shoulder with my dad for the first time out of his archery blind. Shot my first deer with a Hand cast Lyman Sabot slug.

  1. Good shot , looks like you puréed the lungs and knocked her over flat , myself I go for head shots on doe , because it does just that , lays em out flat . I've been looking at getting into slugs , I knew they were devastation but this just made the case , I bet elk would drop the same , 1 oz slug is a crap load of kenetic energy dumped into a target.

  2. I didnt get load data with mold . Lyman publishes data for this slug in there shotshell manual. But from my experiences lyman data sucks. I load a home brew load that is pretty high pressure. I only shoot it outa my H&R USH. Took me three years to get a good shooting load. Alot of the help came from the guys at Castboolits. They have alot of info you can try since every gun shoots different.

  3. If the traditional American way of life that saw you to your birth bothers you, then continue to eat your McDonalds beef and mind your own business. Nice shooting brother. Nothing better than a little father/son woods time.
