UPDATE JULY 2016 – After using the light for a few years I thought I would provide an update, this light has retired all others to the drawer. Absolutely rock solid, my kids have dropped it many times out walking the dog and hiking, it has taken a beating and is as good as the day I bought it. I am buying another to leave at home with the family when I’m out.

  1. Love mine. Bought new in Dec 2012 still use it everyday been running on rechargeable 2000 mAh batteries ( ebay from china ) & original bulb since new. Very few things you buy nowadays are as satisfying & well built. This is one of them.

  2. Thanks for the instructions, you helped me figure out how to set mine. But, you are incorrect on your last (10th) press when changing modes. You don't need to press the button all of the way through to click it on as you do here. You merely hold it in, partially depressed on the 10th press, without clicking it to the "on" position, just like the previous 9 presses, until the light goes off and that changes the mode. Thus, you don't then need to switch it "off" as you do in this video.

  3. @Josh Vela…You can buy rechargeable CR123A batteries and a charger from place like BatteryJunction.com and others. Just a thought as that gives you a choice of rechargeable or lithium batteries. Rechargeable NiMh batteries lose their charge over time and should be charged every three weeks to keep them working well. The Strion LED HL rechargeable is also twice the price of this flashlight.

  4. Wife bought me this light for Christmas a few years ago. Absolutely the best flashlight you could ever have. The only downside about this light is that it it's not rechargeable and the battery life is horrible. Other than that it us by far the best light on the market hands down.

  5. yes, admittedly Streamlight have been behind the Chinese companies in the Lumen outputs recently but looks like they have caught up, although ironically this flashlight is made in China! anyway still a great light and now my primary light out walking the dog at night
