NEW!!! CMMG RipBrace Install and Review

CMMG has a New Pistol Brace with the Patent Pending buffer tube and set screw. I was impressed with the ingenuity and ability to employ the brace to a constant spot. Partnering with SB, CMMG is a winner with this Brace

RipBrace is a revolutionary, retractable pistol brace engineered for lightning-fast deployment to your personal setting.

With CMMG‘s Fastback Technology, you simply pull straight back to extend the brace. No locking tabs to bind.

P3 Technology (Personal Position Preset) allows you to adjust the indexing screw and to set your own preset.

  1. Sooooo, it still requires you to depress a lever, but if your too lazy to place it in the slot you want, the set screw will stop the brace at a designated point for $60 more than the SB3? Yeeeeaaah, NO!!!! Are you freaking high on crack? The SB3 is the best hands down, and this is truly just a gimmick that addresses a problem that doesn't exist!!!

  2. I mean this is really neat. But what if your favorite position is the fully extended? What is the advantage at this point. Does this brace fully extend without needing to depress the latch?

  3. Maybe, if you like to run a brace with a longer length of pull. I'm partial to the blades set short with a folding stock adapter. Adapters are about $200 and blades around $40 so just a little more cost with more adaptability.

  4. Some can do very similar with their SBA3 or Tailhook2 braces. Regarding this "New Brace" Time will tell until the fat lady sings on it so far it looks like a sales gimmick.

If you had the choice between this new copy of the SBA3 or the SBA3, which would you choose?

  5. The only non 5.56 AR I’d want is one of those CMMG mutants in 7.62×39.

I’m going to start picking up parts for a pistol too. I’m going to use one of those Aero lowers for sure. I’m stuck between a 10.5in Midwest complete upper or AEROs. I’m leaning toward the Midwest upper bec I feel like it’s a better value. Just waiting on these sales in anticipation of Jesus’ bday!

  6. I'd love one of these, the price will have to come down a bit……I've been running a rubber cane tip and buffer tube wrapped with paracord for 3+ yrs now and added a law tac fsa 2 yrs ago so it is compact and fast but would be nice to have a little more length of pull.
