Review of the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 Rifle chambered in .22lr. This configuration came with quad rail, iron sights, expandable stock, and 25-round magazine ( As with all S&W firearms, it comes with a lifetime warranty.

**15-22 Magazine Quick Loader:

Purchased this rifle as a cheap alternative to training on the full-size AR-15 in .223/5.56 (S&W M&P15T). The ammo is considerably cheaper, which allows you additional trigger time at the range to practice the mechanics of firearm handling. It is fairly accurate, and has no troubles maintaining a 2-3″ group at 100 yds with various ammo.

It’s light-weight and the action is very easy to manipulate, making this an excellent starter rifle for younger, weaker, or disabled shooters, who might otherwise shy away from it’s larger caliber counter-part.

The provided railed forearm and upper receiver, allow room for mounting the provided, adjustable, back-up iron sights, as well as any other type of optic choice you may have. Along with the telescoping buttstock for shooter comfort, you are able to get an efficient sight picture, with just the right length of pull.

I can really appreciate the ability to use aftermarket AR pistol grips of your liking, as well as have the ability to use any type of AR muzzle brake on the threaded barrel.

  1. Not sure why so many "operators" feel the need to try and diminish the .22 LR. Yes, we get it. No one is telling you to go hunting for ISIS or Hajis with any 22 LR. So stop the macho-man bravado. This is a review of a .22 LR rifle. Go try a H.A.L.O jump with no chute if you want to impress anyone with your Seal Team-Six fantasies.

  2. I have an issue with the fact there is no way to trace a model number or the value or whats on it. I today bought a standard model–but I had been pricing the sport. When I tried to get info from them if this one was a lesser model–or better–you just get the runaround. Mine is called standard–screw barrel with flash suppressor on the end and sold fixed sights–no flip up. Picatinny mount system but they said the sport had some other type more rounded but not as universal. The models and variations are like possible moves in chess–so they keep you in the dark and there is no clear model. Do you know if my standard is equal–better than the sport??

  3. I bought this rifle for my 9 (almost 10) year old son for Christmas and as his first gun. We took it out a few days ago and it was awesome. Prior to this he has had air rifles. This rifle shot flawlessly. We had no malfunctions whatsoever. This gun was spot on and the lack of kick allowed him to be uninhibited and not anticipate rounds going off. This of course allowed him to be very accurate and built up his confidence very, very quickly. I am looking for this gun to be a bridge to my AR. Once he handles the AR well, I will give it to him and give myself a reason to buy myself a new rifle, lol. I paid just over $400 with tax and everything included in that number. I think this was a fantastic price for this particular weapon. I got the last one in the store and now I am very glad I did.

  4. I know a .22 can kill you but if it's not at .223 or a 5.56 I'm not interested. Something that can reach out and touch you accurately at 200 yards plus is the better way to defend yourself. The deadliest enemy is the one you can't see. Nice weapon to start kids on though
