Based on the design of the actions I believe that is fair to say that the 1894 Marlin should be faster and smoother to cycle then a 1892 Winchester however the 1873 will always be the king of speed for leaver guns

I have an old Marlin 30-30. It use to belong to my great grandfather. Funny thing is, it has a lot of history and I have a copy of the court transcript to prove it…my great grandmother shot a man in 1969 with that Marlin for stealing pecans off her tree and she didn't go to jail for it either, because he was black, the law didnt care, but she got a week in jail for shooting a rifle in shotgun (cattle country) only area…it's fucked up but it's interesting history.

I had a marlin lever action chambered in 357 mag…it was a fun gun to shoot and he's not joking, that round is cookin' out of a 16" barrel.
