In this video, I aim to highlight the difference between a full sized AR-15 and a AR-15 pistol. I want to show you how the different configurations can effect your shooting and effectiveness should you have either of these weapons in a defense situation.

  1. This video is VERY misleading. He's holding a fucking vertical grip on the rifle. Then, he have his hand very close to the magwell with the pistol. Smh, this dude walked in and asked for an application. He doesn't even look knowledgeable. He's definitely not credible.

  2. I understand this guy does this for a living, but this test is misleading. He uses a vertical foregrip on the rifle and extends his support hand as far as the rail allows him. When he shoots the pistol, he doesn't use his cheek for stabilization, and his support hand is so close it is almost touching the magwell (not to mention his grip provides absolutely no leverage near the muzzle). I own both platforms, and while there is a difference, it is not this massive.

  3. The recoil is technically the same. There is more MUZZLE RISE on the pistol since it is not stabilized by the stock. You are still shooting the same small bullet.

  4. This is the dumbest video I've ever seen. Yes, let me watch a 3 min video of a guy shooting, with zero information on the setup that was shot, with cutaway shots on the target(of him missing balloons), to see if I should get a pistol. That's all the info anyone needs. Who in their right mind would pay this clown 99$ an hour to teach them to shoot? At the intersection of freedom and technology is this douche trying desperately to take advantage of people who don't know better. Don't forget your eye pro!

  5. If you are going to shoot an AR pistol and want to control muzzle jump and less recoil Id suggest a comp , any comp is better than a birdcage or blast can …… why would you own a pistol without a shock wave blade to stabilize the thing ….Before I bought the shock wave I fount that using a pc of 2" foam pipe insulation on the buffer tube makes it fatter so you can pin it between your cheek and kinda rest it on top of your shoulder … Its almost like shouldering it but not really if it makes any sense because it rest on top of your shoulder not against it … its like shooting a regular rifle … so much better than nothing and dirt cheap …… I love the pistol in AR platform , they are so handy compared to a 16" rifle and as accurate out to 100 yards ..

  6. On the AR pistol, you can put it on a sling and adjust the length of the sling so that when you push the pistol out fully, you can rest your cheek on the cheek rest with the sling wrapped around your body to provide a three-point support. It is much more accurate than simply trying to hold the pistol in order to control the recoil.

  7. Another factor is noise. My 7.5" barrel AR pistol is LOUD!!! How loud is it? I don't know; how about doing the same comparison with a dB meter….
My gun is SBR'd, and shooting it with a stock against the shoulder produces the same felt recoil as an AR carbine or longer barrelled gun.
However, the short barrel throws quite a fireball, with the added noise.
I enjoy your videos, keep them coming!
