I don't get why anyone would want a strobe on a lantern that has no directional shield, you are only going to blind yourself. I thought the huge difference in the run time was a notable change.

Ive been a flashlight geek for years, I have a pretty good collection of high quality hand held flashlights, recently I have discovered that a hands free light like the sidewinder or the Siege can be even more functional when you need the use of your hands in the dark. Im definitely ordering one.

This is the best review I have seen for these lanterns!!! Very detailed and thanking for pointing out all the special features that is so necessary in an emergency. I just ordered the larger D battery Seige from Amazon. Can't wait for it to arrive.

I did not know those were on the market also. I asked why you never show your face on another video of yours but I can't remember which one it was (stupid I know) I will not forget this video please tell me (us) why? I am sure you will not break the camera by looking at it. Ha ha ha ha ha that was a joke anyway thank you for all you have shown and schooled me and others on. And please tell me why? The suspense is killing me….

Great video and they are great lanterns… I have the AA model and it's my go to for when the power is out but would also be good for camping, keeping in the car, etc… I also wanted to say you have some cool dogs there… The one loved getting the lantern while the other one was like "Mom did you really have us get into the tub just to throw these lanterns at us"… Awesome… lol

Very good video. Have you tried the new Fenix mini lantern? Its very expensive but it is also tiny and seems to be a good unit.

I just got some Eneloop AA to D size spacers for my Siege on amazon for about $8-. Great option for the big lantern, and it makes it WAYYYY lighter!

you can use eneloop battery adaptors on your big siege, D to AA, i have them on mine,one thing i like on the new siege are the control.

Great review on these lights!  And nice touch with the pups.  I've loved the bigger model for a while now and wondered if the AA model was just as good.  Seems it's a bit better.  Thx for the effort!

Have you tried Black Diamond Voyager? It's lighter and more compact while holding 4 AAs. Theoretically longer runtimes, but that needs to be tested.
