Theres no to very little ventilation for the barrel.
I converted my first AR (DPMS Panther carbine) from stock hand guard, to a free float hand guard. Accuracy improved a hundred fold. (Students can hit the wire suspending the bowling pins @100 yards) Excellent video

Thank god my Ruger AR doesn’t have that kind of D Ring it’s a twist off. Would’ve liked to see him take that front sight post off though and add a different gas block. Do t like that front iron sight with a free float

I like these matter-of-fact old-school guys. Most of the you-tube gun videos seem to be made by flashy know-it-alls. Not these guys; "just the facts ma'am".

This really isn't an easy job at all though if you have to remove a pinned and/or welded flash suppressor.
The guy seems so frustrated that I wouldn't have been surprised if he would've loaded gun and shot himself in the head after installation

How do you make sure the fsb is aligned? is it self aligning?
what if the barrel nut that came with the hand guard doesn't have any holes to put the gas tube in?
