A buddy of mine is in the process of putting a long range upper together with my help.. Here is the unboxing and simple review. This barrel has not been cleaned and still contains many burrs and debris in the barrel from milling. Some good cleaning and a break in will eliminate the imperfections and bring the finish to a good workable surface. If you have any questions pertaining to barrels and proper break in, please don’t hesitate in asking.

  1. I just ordered the Green Mountain M20 barrel for a 20" AR build I've got in the works for this coming Spring. It's a fluted 416 stainless .223 Wylde 20" barrel with a 1/8" twist and the contour is in between a heavy barrel and an M4/Gov profile. I want this 20" build to be lighter and slimmer than my current 20". Price wasn't too bad, $217 shipped. I tend to prefer stainless as opposed to chrome lined CMV barrels…..and it seems the market is FLOODED with bull and heavy 20" barrels. Finding a lighter weight 20" isn't easy….and many of the lighter ones are 1/7" twist….which I didn't want.

I've read great things about Green Mountain, so hopefully it'll turn out to be a great build. Cheers!!

  2. I'm getting ready to start building out my latest AR. It's going to be a SPR. I don't have the funds (or desire) for a multi kilo-buck rifle so the GM 18" Wylde rifle length fluted, at $189 is the front runner right now.
