Will using a full auto sear trip from CMMG allow the use of the Fostech ECHO 2 with a 22 long rifle upper. Will it reliably work in binary mode? I have some parts from Fostech coming to see if we can make 22lr run well with my ECHO 2. Stay tuned, video to follow.

I'm thinking the Echo 2 trigger would need new springs to work reliably.
Use a regular buffer and see what happens.
Use a lighter spring on the echo trip sear.
i saw another video with a fostech trigger with auto sear bolt carrier on that one it seem to work fine.
I will not buy fostech after seeing this review
Many if the trip spring was weaker it may help if u find a weaker spring to put in the echo trip
Hey Michael! I noticed in some of the comments below that folks are talking about the tabs on the sear trip. In fact, If you purchase the kit from us, the tabs are removed. We also provide a couple modified springs to help aid in the success of the kit. Further, we have an advanced recoil spring that we provide, if you purchase the conversion kit (or dedicated upper) from us. We are here to help, and have had many happy customers who enjoy .22lr echo function! Feel free to send any questions you may have to echo@fostech.us !
Great video. For ones still buying or trying to use conversion it sure helps. I have the bfs3 and it's a blast throwing .22lr. Sure hurts the wallet less for target and practice
There are videos on yt where people got it working with .22lr
That's a lot of money invested there for the poor results attained !! I can understand your frustration . Thank you for the test and evaluation . Glad to say my money is safe in my pocket thanks to you .
That spring on the binary trigger block looks pretty strong. You might try replacing it with a very light spring. You also might try to tune or polish all the echo parts so that they function with the least amount of friction. Also, try to replace the mainspring in the 22 kit with the strongest that will still function with your choice of ammo. The more energy you store in the mainspring, the more energy you will have to make the echo system function as well.
Another excellent video sir, keep doing the Lord's work!
Very good review.Im glad I have not wasted my money on a AR 15 style 22.And more so with a CMG Kit.
I was contemplating on buy a Binary Trigger.Ive read good and bad reviews on Franklin and Fostech so I'm not sure which to buy.
I am going to purchase a upper that shoots 22 magnum.Ive always been a fan of 22 WRF magnum.
THANKS for a great video
Wonder if the anti bounce weight added too much weight to the system and did not allow the full inertial force to slam forward and reset the trigger.
Also wonder if that spring in the trigger system could be swapped out for a reduced power spring.
Thank you for showing your work. I appreciate that these .22 can be frustrating. Keep working on it Mike, you will get it! Great editing throughout.
Your frustration was palpable. 22s can be a pain.
It may be a bad extractor/spring or a dirty chamber as it looks like it wasn’t all the way in battery toward the last of the video. Just observing from you video. Thanks, Mike!
Hey Michael Bell, there was a guy on youtube named
Matthew Olmstead who did a trial and error with his kit. He got his echo trigger and cmmg 22lr converion to work by removing the tabs and the anti-bounce weight. In the video, it seems to work well for him, so you might get better results if you give that a shot.
Thank you for your commitment to the quest of will it binary
Sighs of frustration!! Been there, lol!
If you were going to purchase any of the binaries, which one would you spend your hard earned money on?
TIA
I appreciate you trudging through these frustrations and sharing the tests with us. I am hoping to put together a similar build, and am grateful for you saving me some of the time and expense along the way. Thank you
That whole ordeal looked much less than enjoyable. I suppose that's the price of testing.
I always look forward to your videos! I’m excited to see how this turns out.
