  1. I want to get a 350 legend. In Ohio we are straight wall for whitetail. My dad has a 45-70 but ammo is expensive and I’d like a flatter trajectory. The 350 legend is new, it’s different and it’s perfect for my needs. Shoot I may even get the AR and the Winchester bolt 350.

  2. Years ago I spent hours on the phone with engineers at Ruger and Savage asking them to push for a rimless 357 MAXIMUM. A 1:12 twist will stabilize 250 and even a 300 gr bullet at 850 FPS. Not sure WHY the Legend is 1:16. The Maximum has the vertually the same case capacity as the 350 Legend.

The Maximum is SAAMI rated at 48K cup and the Legend at 55k cup. In a TC Contender 55K works just dandy. All my load data I have for my MGM 1:12 16" Maximum barrel will work in the 350 Legend.

CMMG please consider making 1:12 barrels for the 350 (for us subsonic folks.) Hunter makes HEAVY .358 lead bullets that work fantastic in the Max and will also shine in the 350 Legend

I can't believe people haven't made the Maximum to Legend comparison in any reviews. All it really is, is a rimless 357 MAXIMUM.

  3. I think it’s gonna be great cartridge for guys who live in stats that have the straight wall restrictions like Michigan I just hope it doesn’t fade away like the 35rem I own a 35rem 336 marlin and that rifle is perfect for Michigan woods only problem is the ammunition companies don’t cater only To Michigan residents so the 35rem is dam near extinct I only know of 2 companies that still produce the ammunition Remington and Hornady and neither are particularly cheap $35 dollars a box of 20 I basically get a couple boxes from Cabelas when I go by there on my way to work when I have to go to Port Huron and that’s only for the brass but I digress I believe the 350 is gonna be a great cartridge if the rules regarding straight walled cases in shotgun zones remains

  4. I don't know if anybody else realizes this what does a 357 cartridge. it will have not enough penetration to take down a northern deer. Maybe one of them little German Shepherd size deer down south it may work okay. I have serious doubts but that particular shell is going to do anything at all impressive. Think about it 357 Magnum is not powerful enough to take a deer down or should I say to get a pass-through shot so you could have good blood trail. Maybe a varmint gun. A friend of mine has a 300 Blackout it don't work for crap on Northern deer he shot three deer with it this year the shortest distance 1 went with 135 yards one we never found the other one I shot if found is 300 Blackout bullet on the outside of the shoulder blade no power. Don't get me wrong I would like to have one just for plinking and shooting woodchucks big game I don't think so.

  5. Awesome, been waiting for a non-wildcat 35 cal AR cartridge. I want ammo in 125, 140, 180, 200 and 250 grain bullets. 200 cast core for hogs. 140. And 180 FTX for deer. 125 bonded JHP for two legged critters. 250g for bear.

  6. I don't know what the big deal is about 762 x 39 in a AR platform is. I have had a Colt for more than 20 years and I use C-products mags without issue. I was lucky enough to find Lapua large rifle primer brass from Dillon. It shoots better than most AK variants I have put it up against.

  7. Not impressed by the cartridge. Winchester says it is a 300 yard gun but in the same ad the say it has 900 ftlbs at 200 yards. As a deep woods gun where shots are inside 100 yards sure, but they are talking it up as if it were the second coming.

  8. I am excited about this cartridge and their partnership with a quality company like CMMG. It will definitely be a great round in an AR-15 platform, and to switch an upper from a 450 BM to the 350 Legend and back would be cool. I actually would love to see Winchester offer it in their lever guns as well as Henry and Marlin that would be a sweet somewhat replacement for the 35 Rem which is now hard to find. Granted they may have to do their own version of a Lever Revolution round without crossing those patent lines with Hornady.

  9. CMMG my advice to you would be to hang on to old Mike cause he’s an excellent spokesperson and salesman. Gavin is not easy to keep up with because he asks difficult questions and is a bit spontaneous but old boy Mike hung in there like a champ.

  10. It would be interesting to see how the .350 Legend compares to the .30-30 Win., .357 mag, .44 Mag, and .45LC out of a Lever action! That would be a good deer Rifle .350 Legend Lever action! But would have to use round nose or flat nose bullets. Looks promising!

  11. I am in Michigan, a straight wall cartridge State, and when I saw your video with Winchester on the 350 Legend, I actually got excited about it. The reason: Winchester stated in that video that the FMJ rounds would be less than $10 for a box of 20! That is a big deal because if have a couple spare lowers and I have thought some of the other straight wall offerings and they seem to be good choices, at first. But then I consider the cost of ammo and i just lose interest immediately. By offering FMJ rounds for the 350 Legend at a price point of .50 cents or less, Winchester is really guaranteeing that this cartridge will be successful. I would be willing to bet that when they sat down with their marketing team, they said something like; "There are new cartridges coming out every year and they all get a lot of hype but they don't really take off in a big way. Lots of people say they want a rifle in that new chambering but never buy one. What holds these cartridges back from really taking off? Price per Round is the answer. Nobody wants a rifle they can't afford to shoot and enjoy."
Seeing this CMMG video on the 350 Legend and that they will be offering barrels really sealed the deal. I have a spare CMMG lower that will be my start point for a 350 Legend rifle build, so long as ammo prices are what Winchester says they will be.

  12. Their radial delay PCC is the only thing on that list that really interests me. If someone is confused by ARs coming in different lengths, then there's not much hope for them.

  13. In the .50 cents a round range I would rather "plink" with a .308. I get that it is new, and without the milsurp large quantities, .50 is decent for what it is, but that is still more than 2x the cost of bulk .223.

  14. Defiantly an interesting round. I have been toying with the idea of a 300 black out build. This has me considering the 350 Legend.. I was not initially on the wagon but I can see myself leaning that way perhaps..
