BUSHMASTER Carbon 15 SuperLight ORC Optic

As of to date 2-12-14 I have put just over 650 rounds thur this rifle with no problems what so ever. I ditched the red dot optical ,and the small funny looking butt stock right away. Other mods included a magazine well grip by Mako, Blackhawk AR pistol grip, and a firing pin from Voodoo innovations. I might get a chrome bolt carrier group later on down the line. One other thing is I don’t trust the factory magazine that comes with the rifle so purchase a few Pmags and you should have no issues with feeding the last two rounds. 1. The only thing I didn't really like about this was the stock and the optic, both of which I replaced. Naturally I also got some Magpul PMAGs as well. I heard a lot of complaints with this rifle jamming but I've never had that issue with this model. I think it was the older models that had this issue. Only time it jammed was when my buddy used some old reloaded .223 rounds, but as soon as we switched from that it never had issues jamming. I can only assume it was an issue with the rounds he used then. I think I put ~1,500 rounds through it before I sold it (needed money for something else) and really liked it. Not bad at all considering the cost.

  2. I have the exact same model and I have noticed it is very picky on what magazine is inserted. You mentioned tilt followers causing feed issues the last few rounds but  I have several steel magazines, including a 100 round surefire mag, that will not lock the bolt open when empty. The Bushmaster mag that came with it works fine and all the polymer mags I have tried lock open the bolt, but several of the steel mags do not lock the bolt open when the last round is fired or if I insert them empty and pull back on the charging handle. The same mags that have this issue in my Bushmaster work fine in a PSA and Tactical Weapons Solutions AR I tested them in. I know it is all about the follower, but wondered if others have had the same issue
