On May 9th, a subcommittee of the South Carolina state Senate Committee on Judiciary will hold another hearing on Senate Bill 139, the SC Constitutional Carry Act of 2019, to ensure that any law-abiding adult who may legally possess a firearm may carry a handgun for self-defense without first having to go through government red tape.  Please contact subcommittee members and urge them to SUPPORT S.139.  Click the “Take Action” button below to contact subcommittee members.

Senate Bill 139, sponsored by Senator Shane Martin (R-13), would recognize a law-abiding citizen’s unconditional Right to Keep and Bear Arms for self-defense in the manner they choose.  Self-defense situations are difficult, if not impossible, to anticipate.  Accordingly, a law-abiding adult’s right to defend himself or herself in such situations should not be conditioned by government-mandated time delays and taxes.

Again, please click the “Take Action” button above to contact subcommittee members and urge them to SUPPORT S.139.
