If the goal is defense Id suspect you’re far more effective and efficient with what you train with nearly everyday. With the Atlas and AR, every motion is deliberate and subconscious due to extreme repetition. Your chance of a failure of any kind is less. Your confidence in the weapon itself higher. Your ability to troubleshoot very high. It’s no accident you chose those two to compete with. Just remember to ditch the shot timer.
To each his own is what I say but for me I'm not in and out of a vehicle anymore so I dont need one 14.5 is my choice still have decent muzzle velocity and able to hit 4 to 5 hundred yard target just fine with good ammo
I want to put together a 9mm AR pistol with a binary trigger. Spikes makes a 9mm lower that takes Glock mags. I really want a Sig MPX 8", but we shall see. 😊.
Im there with you, except I went and did it. I own a Sig MPX AR pistol. I put a Noveske pig on the end of it. I had the idea that it would be a concealed truck gun since i have a ccw. The thing looks great… I have shot it exactly twice. It is extremely loud, and flat out rude to others to shoot indoors. It is inaccurate as hell and you have to retrain yourself to use a sling and push away as opposed to pulling it towards you to get any sort of accuracy(in my experience). The thing is not as fun as I thought it would be either even without the noise, so I find myself shooting my other guns on range days. Id rather shoot a lever gun to be honest, so the AR pistol sits in the gun room. PS .. I shouldered it, I don't care.
I don’t see the purpose of one either. I put one together awhile back and then bought a bunch of extras. Took it to the range twice and was like “I’m not going to use this for anything.” Ended up selling it and never looked back
AR and AK pistols are a joke. The SBR's are fun but if you have any training you can maneuver a 14 inch AR in close quarters just fine even in a vehicle and they always run any ammo. Three years ago we watched some retard with a short rifle shoot 1 finger off and blow the meat off 2 others because he reached out to control the gun better like he saw on youtube.
I have a Draco Pistol that I plan on making my truck gun once I prove it out (replacing my Beretta CX4… Maybe make that one my car trunk gun). I want to build an AR pistol at some point this year to just have one. I see your point about need… But if I owned what I really just needed, I would only onw about five guns 😀. Good luck on your move as I know that moving sucks.
I agree with you about the redundancy of the platform. I have an AR pistol because it is a novelty, but I am much better with a dedicated pistol for pistol ranged target and a dedicated rifle for rifle ranged targets. Something in between is not great at either range. I agree they are not any more fun to shoot than any other un besides the novelty factor.
I built my first AR pistol for my GF because she wanted something lighter. Your right its LOUD AF! Not sure why you think it's more expensive to shoot pistol. Everything else very valid points. 🇺🇸👍
The more I look at AR pistols, the more I see a trend of MK18 variants that bypass the tax stamp process for SBRs using the piston loophole. I have an AR SBR, and frankly, don't see the advantage for CQB with it due to the extreme flash when I don't have a suppressor on it.
When you get older the pistol's lighter weight will make a difference. My Daniel Defense pistol with 11" barrel with carbine length gas tube is my favorite weapon.
why should you own an ar-15 pistol? its your right. why not take on learning something new? not sure how much a flash can affects the noise i know its supposed to push all the stuff forward.
I like the AR pistols, got a couple. I think in an shtf situation, honestly, it would be better to have a longer Barrel for the simple fact to actually be able to effectively Engage The Zombies even further away. Because in a situation like that you would want to engage the zombies as far away as possible that way you don't ever have to worry about close-quarters situation. I really feel like it in shtf that a close-quarters situation should always be avoided and only encountered if absolutely deemed necessary and the risk factor is something that has to be done. But that's just me. Sorry I had a moment🤔🤔👍👍🤪🤪 In the end, buy what you like not what others think you should like.

You can’t a reason to build a 10.5 pistol in 300 blkout?! The fact you can’t find a reason at all to build a gun??? That worries me honestly……

I like my longer guns, pistols look cool for sure. Just not for me🤷🏼♂️

I built a AR pistol recently. Small and handy. I like'em if you build'em right.

CQB
Cause you want one ?

Unless you are clearing rooms I don't see the need for them.

I want to build a pistol because it gives me an excuse to buy more stuff.
I don’t see a good reason other than you can
All in what you need or want

Carbine or underfolder AK (Midas Approved) I don't see the need for the pistol style I agree they are not a lot of fun to shoot at all
You should have one just nech sa you can
you know me, id say AK underFunker for the win! haha
I’m definitely not gonna try changing your mind brother, you do what you want and don’t worry about nothin else.
I will say that the main reason I like AR pistols, is that I can keep them loaded in my vehicles. Can’t do that with a long gun here in MI.

First off, there is absolutely no difference in the cost of shooting a AR carbine verses shooting an AR pistol.
