  1. Mbell556, I have a question for you. If you were going to build a 12.5 inch 556.. and going to shoot it suppressed, would you use a superlative arms piston with a bleed of function or a DI with a superlative arms adjustable gas block?

  2. Did you drill the set screws to 0.070" as directed? Seems rather deep for a barrel, but that is what Superlative wants. Thinking of a clamp on to avoid this depth of cut.

  3. Mr. Bell, I watched both of your videos about this piston system. Would you try it with different weights please and see how that affects the gas system settings and perceived recoil (as subjective as that might be)?

  4. any idea if there are handguard / upper receivers restrictions with this kis? im thinking about building a rifle using the Aero Precision m4e1 upper receiver with this piston kit, but ive never built one before so i dont know lol

  5. When will you do a shooting review? Would be great to see how this kit performs under full auto, mag dumps, and high round count. I'm interested in how durable it is, and if it helps to mitigate fouling and gas blow back when utilized with a suppressor.

  6. Will the Superlative piston kit fit properly under a Knights Armament M5 RAS rifle length rail with a mid-length gas system barrel? its a mock dissipater build I have planned.

  7. Thank you for the very informative videos Mr. Bell. The detailed presentations are very comprehensive. I also noticed that you were using a reaction rod when building. I am planning on building a 7.62×39 AR, would the 223/556 reaction rod work? Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi Mike, After watching your video, I bought a Superlative piston kit and am having some problems with it. With the adjustment all the way open an no bleed, it does not cycle the bolt enough to feed another round. I have a Aero Precision upper/lower with a Palmeto 18" Wylde barrel with rifle length system. I talked to Superlative and they suggest I remove the weight from the buffer, this helped some but i still have to keep the adjustment wide open for it to cycle. Superlative said that I may want to enlarge the barrel gas hole. Can you offer any suggestions or tests/steps I can take to get better function?

  9. i was wondering how the piston system fit under the handguards you have in the video i am trying to use the vltor polylithic upper with the superlative arms piston system. any ideas or thought you have on this i would appreciate

  10. is it possible to dimple the barrel with the BRD engineering jig? On your video, it shows that the gas block is actually alittle behind where the shoulder is. Lemme know 🙂

  11. Very well done videos by Mr. Bell. I seen his videos for this piston system and the DI gas system. He covers very definitively all the aspects I was looking for and he obviously knows what he is doing.
I will look for his videos whenever I need more information.
Thanks, Mike for the work you do.

  12. Hi Mike … Great review and information!
I'm surprised that there is not a spring inside of the bolt carrier group (at the back of the bolt)… to keep the bolt fully forward whenever it is not locked into the barrel. My other piston AR bolts had this spring inside.
Without such a spring wouldn't it be possible for the bolt to be rotated out of position with the BCG moving forward?
