On March 14th, the Arizona state Senate Judiciary Committee voted to pass House Bill 2693, sending it on to the full Senate where it will await a floor vote.  HB 2693 would improve the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families by reducing arbitrary boundaries that leave them defenseless.  Please contact your state Senator and urge them to SUPPORT HB 2693.  Click the “Take Action” button to contact your state Senator.

House Bill 2693, sponsored by Representative Warren Petersen (R-12), would allow law-abiding citizens to store their loaded firearms in their locked personal vehicles while parked on school grounds.  This would ensure that parents would be able to pick-up and drop-off students without first having to stop and unload their firearms before driving onto school grounds or deviating from their route to park off campus.  So called “gun-free zones” are arbitrary boundaries that only disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless while doing nothing to deter criminals.
