Here, I show how to punch the bore of your AR using more advanced gear than just the basic butt stock kit.

Who all thinks this guy needs a gun room!?!? Everyone comment and let’s talk him into it lol
I'm not knocking any of the products or companies in the video, but I am likening them to companies that make products that have anything to do with fishing. They aren't in business to catch fish, they're in business to catch fishermen. 😉
Q: Does the bore guide have to be model specific or caliber, or can I use w/ any weapon ?
I have the same jag set which one works best with the Ar-15
You're right, That doesn't make sense. I don't recommend the bore snake. (Though I'm surprised it fit through and the other stuff didn't, they're usually tighter). Two things you can do: get a military issue patch puller, instead of a jag, that'll fix it. Or get an Otis kit. (but keep using the MP7 with the hardware).
Yup tried thinner smaller sized patches it gets stuck a 1/4 in the barrel. Brushes, patches I put some mp7 bore gel on and they still get stuck. It makes no sense to me, and I've had to just run a bore snake in the mean time. Thanks for responding !
You're bore brush shouldn't get stuck. Are you pushing it through dry? I've never had one get stuck. Can be a little tight when new, but usually go through. As for the patches, are you using a jag? Some patches are thicker, and won't work well with a jag. Like Gov't issue patches. Those you'll need a patch holding end (forgot what it's called. Has a slot like a needle. LIke in the gov't issue kit. (I discuss that at 2:30) Otherwise, buy some thinner patches.
Great video btw.
I got the same cleaning rod you used in the video (.22 caliber) but even when using my jp bore guide my leaning patches and even the .223 brush gets stuck in the barrel…again the rod, patches, brush, are meant for a .223 rifle… Any tips?
I'm not upset, just wondered what you meant. FYI, I'm 40, and have never had a cavity! lol
What the hell does that mean, you'd hate to see me brush my teeth?
I beg to differ with you, VERY FEW people don't clean their guns. You're in the minority. It was done in my kitchen because the video was for the online portion of a article I wrote, and the kitchen was clean.
Thank you
Good job. A well done informative video.
@Sastei12 Thanks, I appreciate it. Glad you liked the video, and took the time to comment!
I'll check out the possum hollow bore guide, I'm always looking for more gear. The tipton bore guide has been awesome, though. The patch trap is the best.
@tjby54 The one I'm using in this video is from Tipton. It works great, and is flexible for use in all rifles. Another one that is really good is from CJ Weapons, but that one is AR specific.
That bore guide is the Deluxe Bore Guide from Tipton. It works Great. I also have one from CJ Weapons that I really like. The only downside is the CJ Weapons one is only for ARs, and it's platform specific, so the large AR10/SR10 platform uses one, and the AR15 uses another.
The patch trap is awesome. Other ones on the market you have to clean the trap, but the Tipton one uses soda bottles, so you just throw it away.
@3006USMC Thanks for watching it.
VERY HELPFUL, THANKS.
