Just addressing a few things about the 22 Evolution from CMMG. Looking at operation and the difference between the original and the stainless steel models. Also talk about how its easier to clean and the accuracy.

Speaking of accuracy here is a list of video where I split playing cards with my rig & a CMMG conversion bolt. Enjoy the vids.

1. 22 LR Card Shoot – distance 20′

2. The AR-15 22LR 100′ Card Trick Shoot

3. The 150 foot (50 yard/45.72m) 22LR Card Trick

4. Left handed 150 foot (50 yard) Card Shoot

5. The Final Chapter: 300 foot (100 yard/ 91.44m) Card Shoot

How to Zero your AR15 / M4 / M16A2 Platform: Mechanical Zero & the 25m Target

  1. Any ways this is a great product! And since you know your fire amrs i was wondering if i buy a 300 blackout upper if it would make a good deer rifle and if so what kind of range out that round can i expect?

  2. yes i been watching lots of videos on what type of ammo ppl are using.. But i got a brick of 500 rounds i need to shoot before i get the ammo that works good.. The ammo i have now is fedrel hp 38 grain game shok.. I will make sure not to use them next time 🙂

  3. hmm i got one on my m4 and sometimes it shoots 3 or 4 round burst! I dont know if im bumb firing it on accident some how or if some how my gun is not catching the trigger.. it is brand new and only shot 2oo rounds out of it. any idea's?

  4. Did you have to break in the conversion before shooting your video? I bought the CMMG .22 Evolution Stainless Conversion but I am having FTE issues using Federal and CCI. Like 3 or 4 of every 10 rounds.

  5. Oh and I just saw they also have the CMMG .22 Evolution Drop-in Bolt Catch you can get which will make the bolt hold open when the mag is empty..pretty cool.

  6. @jhenry3016 I haven't experienced a big difference but I have only shot about 300 rounds thru the new CMMG. The original conversion bolt was good but there were times I experienced a few failure to eject but I think that was due to ammunition and not the equipment.

All in all I recommend the stainless because its operation is much smoother; but if you are on a budget then the original works well.

    I hope this helps.

    🙂

  7. @mattvanhugenstein Check the description box of this video – I have a list of vids where I split playing cards at distances at 20', 50', 100', 150' and 300' away and that was with iron sights. So IMHO its pretty darn accurate.

Any further and you would need a scope but then a stiff wind would effect your rounds on target (IOW its not worth shooting past 100m).

    I hope the vids help.

    🙂

  8. I got the original conversion. Seems accurate to me but I will say those bulk .22s arent the best quality. People may be blaming the conversion kit for lack of accuracy but I would say the blame probably belongs on the ammo. Some times you can hear a weak bang. I suppose you could get match grade .22s but that defeats the purpose of shootin on the cheap. If I was hunting sparrows at 200 yards I might be concerned but a steel plate at 100 yards is a days worth of fun-cheap too.

  9. okay i never got an answer from your last vid where you shot the card. once again, i never bought this conversion kit b/c i had read that the 223 or 5.56 barrel is not the best fit for a 22lr bullet and out at like 70 yards the accuracy is pretty sub standard. so would you please prove this true or false. youd probably need a scope to get a real test but whatever, im still asking. PLEASEEEE
