A few years ago you could buy Russian military optics (which are in my humble opinion vastly superior in terms of reliability and ruggedness) for a reasonable price. About the only one that is still finacially practical (dollars are buying less these days) is the PK-A. Most of the advantages to be had with high end optics can only be exploited by people with military training; so most shooters are better off buying optics in the $100-$200 range.
These high dollar optics are quite good but that goodness doesn't equal the asking price. Eotech and Aimpoints simply aren't worth the money. Unless you're shooting at something over 500 meters away, there is no valid reason to spend $500-$1,000 on optics. I've seen too many upper middle class Eotech commandos out shot by rednecks over iron sights to think otherwise.
I get a kick out of some of these promo vids for military/leo gear. In almost every dramatized entry scene or 1st person pov, muzzle discipline falls a bit short. Don't rake your buddies! LOL. Hey, that's Kyle from VTAC! I'd love to train with that guy.
I'v never seen a point in mounting optics on a shotgun…
Do they clear PEQ 2?
@24Rorschach yeah no shit, hunters :P. I just mean you very rarely actually see people hunting with them vs a traditional rifle site or iorns. (varmit, hogs, and turkey, more so, but still not nearly as many)
who hunts with those?
@oivd no, 5.56×45
lol EOtech on that revolver looks funny 0.0
3:18 ectech on 50. cal?
@banjoboyjohn SERIOUSLY, Who is going to buy that cheap gun then spend just as much as the gun on a H.W.S. Its crazy.
a friend on mine has a real steal eotech on his airsoft 416 and it rugged as hell i wouldnt have any worrys about a bb breaking it.
What bumps are there with EOTech? I have yet to hear a solid complaint about them.
doesn't mater if its new, it doesn't mean its better.
Eotech is far superior, except in battery life.
Holographics are new technology, LED red dots are old technology.
Hardly, those bbs can be quite heavy and travel much faster than what you might think. Eotech is still fairly new and as a few bumps to smooth out, aimpoint is old news and perfected, pick up an aimpoint micro instead.
@xjado321 well, try to hunt down a hog. you'll see that it's far from being easy
I doubt a BB could do anything to harm a true eotech
you can get em in canada but I wouldn't wanna use the real thing on an airsoft gun, 2 much risk of busting it up from incoming bb's
u can get a clone eotech is much cheaper like i did on my m4:)
if it were afordable and if we could get it in canada…id have one on my airsoft mp5
Cool, I have actually been thinking of getting an EOTech for some time now.
