Not every AR-15 needs to be “Tactical”, Black or menacing. AR15s have morphed into modern sporting rifles that can be used for a variety of purposes, Defense, Training, Target Shooting, Plinking, competition, Long Range, and of course hunting. In recent years we have seen the emergence of a variety of new calibers to go along with the trend in ARs. Today we are going to be looking at CMMG‘s iteration of the Tactical hunter with the addition of .22 Nosler to their line of MK IVs. .22 Nosler is a modern rendering of the .22-250 cartridge for use in Semi-auto rifles like the AR-15. From the .223 Remington cartridge it offers a 25% increase in case capacity, yielding higher velocities, and a flatter shooting round. It was announced at Shot Show 2017. This V2 variant of CMMG;s Rifle is comprised of the following:
24″ Fluted Medium taper 416 Stainless Steel Barrel, RKM-14 Keymod Handguard, Forged 7075 Receivers, Magpul furniture, Geissele Trigger, and a variety of color schemes. The rifle runs off standard 6.8 SPC Magazines

  1. Just had three custom builders tell me NOT to bother with 22 Nosler if I reload – brass damage was rampant unless I loaded at the extreme light side of the spectrum which defeats the purpose of the cartridge entirely. Nuff Said !

  2. Great video. Used this round in several sniper training classes. Much better than .223/5.56 69gr-77gr. We compared to 6.5 Grendel. Most liked the Nosler. For obvious reason. The proof is in the puddin.

  3. I get 3000FPS from 68Gr Hornady Match in a .223 with a 22" barrel. I just can't see why anyone would want to spend the money to upgrade to a nosler when the numbers are not that impressive. It's no where near 22-250 velocities.

  4. Very interested in this round. How is the recoil vs. a regular AR in 5.56/.223? I royally fucked up my shooting shoulder thus need to know about the recoil before I do a build on one that I really want to do. Would the SJC Titan work to help with reducing the recoil like it does on the 5.56/2.23?

  5. Too much cream on the corn..
Its a simple barrel swap, there was no rifle build around a round especially when all parts are use for other calibers nothing new here but a barrel and bolt swap

  6. This round pretty much looks like 5.45x39mm great video, hope to see more fun videos. can you please do a comparison video of a TT 30 (7.62×25 Tokerav) and 1911 both are made in same design, with different cartridges it will be fun
