This is a quick video on why I chose to make a controversial decision to sell my Eotech reticles in favor of the Romeo5 XDR for personal/home defense.
This is not a typical video on a review, its more of an informational video to showcase a philosophical rationale for this change. I think it’s a very interesting comparison for you to consider.

I just don't know what to buy yet I want the EOTECH EXPS3-4 the Sig Sauer Romeo 6 T has the option to change from 4 different red dots. I know EOTECH is the proven golden standard for the military.
I have an EoTech and I live in the desert. The brightness levels SUCK! It is no-where near the brightness level I need out here, not even with brand new batteries. I will never buy another one.
Just bought 2. A black one for my rifle. and an FDE one for my pistol. Really like the fact that they take standard AAA batteries, great for survival situations even though the battery life is good.
I had just got mine today from amazon and I was about to send it back for a refund, but something told me to check online if the lens tilt is normal. Sure enough it is.
Does the Romeo get as bright as the EOTech? That was one of my favorite parts of the EOTech, it was very capable in bright sun light.
Great video bro
Sold my eotech and git the Sig Romeo 4C and love it!!!πππΊπΈ
I agree with you though
I like the floss turrets but……do you think there's a greater chance of them being damaged than there is with the capped turrets on the basic romeo5? If I choose this model I'm going to push the water testing to the limits of its rating too cuz I'm kinda skeptical about the whole free turret idea
imo one thing side should do is offer the reticle in the 5xdr in the Romeo 5 housing to allow for more mounting options& it would likely be a great seller for them. I have seen holosun 503βs, pa advanced micro dot& sig Romeo side by side. Though all are good budget options I feel the Romeo has superior construction and feels much more durable and tough, than itβs competitors in same price range. The only plus to the ugly base is if shtf finding a aa/aaa battery for this will be much easier than cr123 or 18650βs.
The Romeo 5 is much more than a "home defense" red dot. These are true military grade sights. They can, and do handle extreme field duty. Granted, they are not established to the degree as the standard by which all such red dots are compared, i.e., the Aimpoint Micro, but so far all the torture tests I've seen demonstrate that it should be. I currently have the Romeo 5 mounted to my rifle. If money were no object I would probably still go spend the duckets on an Aimpoint, but at this point I really don't have a good reason as to why I would do that other than the confidence factor which becomes more and more established over time.
Raz, I just uploaded part2 with a view of the reticle.
Would've been nice to see the reticle…
